We where on the Field earlier, Gissi's Friends and their Owners where there to All the Dogs where doing their own thing, Roxy was chasing Bubbles, Buster was throwing his ball about, Bonnie and Molly where following Gissi, as we looked round there appeared a lovely tan Cocker Spaniel, Gissi and him where sniffing one another, then next thing we knew they where fighting and Buster ran over to join in, so there is Busters Mum and Me trying to separate them, I managed to get Gissi, who was determinant to carry on, in the process his Harness had come of, I managed to get it back on and get Gissi on the Lead, who of course was going mad, Busters Mum managed to put the Dog on a lead but as she was walking with Roxy, Buster and the other Dog, Buster went for the Dog again, I passed Gissi to Molly's Owner and went over to help, I managed to get the Lead of the Spaniel who I could see was still a Puppy, so Busters Mum asked if I would hold onto him while she takes her 2 Home, then she will be back, as she thinks she knows who he belongs to, I said no Problem, Well Gissi was going totally mad, the poor Spaniel was shaking, he jumped up on me and then he started to talk to me, it was so sweet, I was cuddling him and telling him it was ok, we would find his Home, of course Gissi was getting louder and madder, I sat on the Floor and the Dog sat in front of me, while I was stroking he was talking to me, of course Mouthy Gissi was getting madder by the minute lol Molly's owner was walking in front with is 2 and with Gissi, of course Gissi kept pulling back as he wanted to come to me and no doubt have another go at the Pup Busters Mum came back, I said bye to the Pup who once more jumped up at me, I gave him a Kiss and a hug, then Busters Mum took him across to where she thought he lived She did find his Owner Well, Gissi was mad at me, well mad at me, so I told him to behave and stop acting like a spoilt Devil that he is, he would not stop barking at me, running around me, jumping at my Legs, when we got in he ignored me for a while but every time he smelled the Dog on my Trousers he would bark at me and jump about, so in the end to get some Peace, I went and put my Pyjamas on Goodness this little Man takes no sh*t he fights back believe me, the little Devil Fortunately, none of the Dogs got hurt, the Girls where ok they sat further away and watched the Carry on Do your Pets stick up for themselves and their Friends?

Sweetie, your Gissi act exactly like my two russels. They don't want any other animal near me and when i cuddle some puppies, you should see those two. Worse than two spoiled brats. But, we have to remember, they get jealous and we are their property. Hope Gissi would see it differently, but NOT likely. TATA.

I am glad everybody was okay. Gissi did seem a little jealous I agree, but Chihuahuas can be a bit mouthy and very jealous things. For instance, one of our dogs gets so jealous when we pet the other that he'll come up and jump in our laps, wagging his tail and licking us or giving us the "pet me I'm cute too" look. Sometimes it takes him awhile and he turns his head away from us as if to say "If I don't look at them I don't see them". Such a QT Patootie they are. So the Cocker Spaniel is at the park often without it's owner?

Has Busters Mum showed her head yet? I wonder if maybe she abandoned the dog. It's not uncommon to hear of pets being abandoned when they're owners relocate and can't have a pet. I just am glad that everyone involves was safe, but I'm concerned with Buster being at the Warden's,.

Aaaaawwww that poor puppy. It's a good thing you were there to comfort him after the fight as his parents were not. Gissi is a jealous little cuss. He did not want "you" holding that puppy. lol All the time I'm reading this though I'm wondering how you are doing through all of this? I would have had to have a sit with the puppy, for my breathing would have been very labored in deed. I'm glad that everything turned out. Yes, my little ones will defend each other, or another one that they feel needs it and me. lol

Do you know I just wrote you a long response here and mylot went down lol I will not write it all again lol in short Puppy was bigger then Gissi, we don't know who started the Fight as the Puppy was nowhere near me, Gissi will only fight if he senses Danger Never found the Owner after 2 hours search so Jane had to call the Dog Warden as the Pup would not get on with her Dogs How I managed, I don't know, I just saw this Pup biting Gissi on his back, Jane ran over straight away, I got there and after a couple of Minutes got Gissi who of course did not want to give up I had to sit for a while and good Job I always carry my Inhaler lol

I just hate it when I have written a nice long response to someone and then the power goes off or some thing else like that happens that takes it all away. I get so frustrated and can not remember all I had said and sure do not want to try going through it all again. It's too sad that no one was about to claim the little one. Yes, it sure is a good thing that you keep your inhaler handy, I do too. We must.

oh my Gabs gissi really did get in a fight, wonder what was in his little mind. lol.Maybe he was a tad jealous as the puppy was young and cute and cuddly and getting too much attention for our little man in the doggie suit. shame gissi you know Mum loves you. watch out little man for the green eyed jealousy.lol. I can just see Gissi getting all upset and mad. lol. I think he just got a bit of jealousy and wanted to show the spaniel that he was mums dog , not it. its been so long since I have had pets. but I was shocked when my dog jumped the fence and bit this teenager on the leg, then I realized why he did that. she would come along our street every school day and pick up a stick and whack it thru the fence at my dog Swap so one day I guess he had just had enough. well it entailed showing her parents that he had had all his rabies shots and all the rest. The fact of the matter is it was not a real bite either as no skin was broken but the girl was scared and I was too as Swap had always been very people friendly, and had never growled or anything. the case was finally thrown out of court as we were moving any way. but like I told the parents swap had always been very people friendly but she had been teasing him for several weeks. I also said I would never keep a vicious dog and had never seen Swap exhibit any tendency toward meanness. when we moved to an apartment we gave Swap to some friends who took very good care of him and they said he had never tried to bite anyone. He was much loved by their children and would sleep on the youngest girls bed.

hi gabs it makes me smile as I ran all this by in my mind picturing Gissi growling and the poor Spaniel puppy all shook up. Yes Gissi is not one to back down. He may be little but he must think he is plenty big as he is sure not afraid. Spunky little man in his doggie suit. Give him a hug from me and heres three for yourself. love hatley

My girl is the boss, she puts up with nothing especially if it's from another girl. Our other older dog is a guy and he just lays back to see what happens, if new dogs won't leave him alone he will get upset enough to bark or even bite. He's about 78 pounds and lazy. I have never seen them get together to gang up on a strange dog.

Haha it sounds like Gissi was a little jealous at the end. My current dog is a bit of a bully. She'll start a fight because I'm ignoring her or because another dog is trying to get my attention. She'll also fight a dog if it's bothering my sister's dog. So in that way I guess she's standing up for my sister's dog (who is older and doesn't like to be bothered). I'm working on getting my dog to fight less with introducing her to more dogs. Usually bigger dogs, which scares her a little so she decides not to fight and hide behind my legs instead ;p I'm glad no one was hurt and that the puppy was able to be returned to his owners :)

Well, I do not have dogs, but my cats all have their day. Unfortunately, Creamery has come home hurt a time or two. You would think he would know better. Sometimes they just smell the stray that comes to the yard, but other times they fight.

happily, my dog doesn't fight, but the 2 roommates' dogs fight each other the OTHER roommate blames Zoe, but it really isn't Zoe starting it, its the retard Precious who starts it, than when Zoe hurts her defending herself, well, J blames Zoe, and it is her stupid dog that starts it.

Hi Gabs! This is quite a story, as always! I don't think Gissi was wrong for trying to protect his Mum and his "girls" against this "stranger"!lol But, what does upset me is the owner of the puppy for being so careless and not caring where their puppy was! What if he got hurt or worse? That's all I can think about! Thankfully you and your group of "animal park visitors" are very concious of who belongs to whom and know what's going on! This is a very upsetting case to me! That's little puppy's owner should be so happy that you all were looking out for "it" or things could have really ended badly! And good for you Gissi for watching out for your friends! You are as always, quite ther "hero"! I love you both, Leslie

I guess it is good to see Gissi can stand up for himself although it is a bit of a worry when there is conflict like that and this incident sounds like a jealous spat! My dog has never been mad at anyone animal or human! She will play with a barking dog before she will retaliate! I am relieved that everything turned out okay especially for the puppy. Gissi sure takes you on some adventures!

to me i think dogs stands up for everyone because when i use to have my 3 dogs and someone tried to come and mess with me and my sister they always tried to bite them so they can keep away from us although they were not trained that way to do that but still. i think dogs are good pets to have when you are in trouble or to play with :)

It sounds like you and your friends handled the situation very well. Wow! Gabs, I have to tell you!!! I am getting a little boy dog of my very own in a week. I think he is a shitzu. He is brown and white. His name is Co-ey. Ok, so we have to change his name to something different. I prefer names from the bible that are a bit "noble". I need some ideas. I like the names of Isaac, Jeremiah, and Isaiah. Do you have any name ideas??
