Obama Amnesty? |
| |
| http://www.foxnews.com/po... CLEVELAND -- A U.S. immigration court granted asylum to President Barack Obama's African aunt, allowing her to stay in the country, her attorneys said Monday. The decision was mailed Friday and comes three months after Kenya native Zeituni Onyango, the half-sister of Obama's late father, testified at a closed hearing in Boston, where she arrived in a wheelchair and two doctors testified in support of her case. The basis for her asylum request hadn't been made public. People who seek asylum must show that they face persecution in their homeland on the basis of religion, race, nationality, political opinion or membership in a social group. Her lawyer, Margaret Wong, said last year that Onyango first applied for asylum "due to violence in Kenya." The East African nation is fractured by cycles of electoral violence every five years. In a November interview with The Associated Press, Onyango said she was disabled and was learning to walk again after being paralyzed from Guillain-Barre syndrome, an autoimmune disorder. Onyango moved to the United States in 2000. Her first asylum request was rejected, and she was ordered deported in 2004. But she didn't leave the country and continued to live in public housing in Boston. Onyango's status as an illegal immigrant was revealed just days before Obama was elected in November 2008. Obama said he did not know his aunt was living here illegally and believes laws covering the situation should be followed. A judge later agreed to suspend her deportation order and reopen her asylum case. Wong has said that Obama wasn't involved in the Boston hearing. The White House also said it was not helping Onyango with legal fees. In his memoir, "Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance," Obama affectionately referred to Onyango as "Auntie Zeituni" and described meeting her during his 1988 trip to Kenya. Onyango helped care for the president's half brothe rs and sister while living with Barack Obama Sr. in Kenya. I realize it says that Obama and the Whitye House did not help. But really would you want to be the judge that sends the disabled Aunt of the President out of the country? And if she is here illegally, why in the hell are tax payers paying for her housing? | | | | | |

| | She's contributed nothing? Obama's aunt has had a social security card since 2001 so I'm not sure what her employment history was before her injury, if any. What I do know is that she was not simply mooching off of society and contributing nothing before the media spotlight found her. She was a public health advocate on behalf of the Boston Housing Authority and also worked as a volunteer computer systems co-ordinator for a program in which adults over 55 mentor children in their communities. | | | |

| | Did you actually think they would deport her? I mean come on...they were not going to deport a relative of a sitting president. We all knew how this one was going to turn out. So I guess this means she will continue to sit in our country and let all of us tax payers support her. Obama is a multi millionaire...why doesn't he support her instead of us. | | | | | | |

| | Well, that's a pretty simplistic way of looking at it. Each and every member of the Senate and the House...even the ones who are serving their last terms and are planning to retire...are cowards? What could they be afraid of...being called names? They're called names allll the time. Does this also mean that all of these new members of congress who are being voted in to save the country will also be considered spineless if they don't jump on this sinking ship of a kornspiracy? | | | |

| | Maggie - I should have played that!! Spall - Rep. Nathan Deal, R-Ga., said, "I think the best way to do it is produce the birth certificate and let that be the end of it." U.S. Rep. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., added, "What I don't know is why the president cannot produce a birth certificate. I don't know anyone else who can't produce one. I think that's a legitimate question." Rep. Bill Posey, R-Ga., has introduced a measure in Congress that would require future presidential candidates to document their eligibility, and about a dozen other members of Congress have signed on as co-sponsors | | | |

| | Ding...ding...ding...school is in session again! Both Rep. Deal and Blunt know very well what the procedure is when one is defending a lawsuit so their statements are nothing but spin. The legislation regarding future candidates is a good one and I hope it passes so that we don't have to deal with this in the future. In the meantime, I continue to wonder why these fine gentlemen don't bring this matter to the floor of the Senate and press for a vote to turn it over to the judicial committee. In this way Obama would be compelled to turn over the documents in question to the committee...the skanky lawyers wouldn't be able to get their grubby hands on them...and the committee would either have evidence to impeach or to clear him. Simple. In my opinion, no one is willing to do more than offer constituent placating soundbites because they have already seen the proof but they're bound by ethics to keep that information private. | | | |

| | Oooookaaaay, Spall. You are right. I am always wrong. I know nothing, & I'm too stoopit to learn anything. Socialism is jim dandy for everyone, & one-size-fits-all insurance reform is the best thing since The One cut his first fart (while reading a teleprompter, surely). Spinmeisters control my itty brain, & you are a god. I bow in your general direction (& be glad I don't quote the sexy genius, Barry Sotero's first "comment" in your general direction--if that is his name is this month). I surrender. I will go forth & wear my aluminum hat to keep the "kornspiacies" out, & sit in my apartment endlessly watching Larry King Barely Alive, & other wise & truthful Clinton News Network offerings. There. Ya happy now? If not, too bad. Because from now on, we will never speak of facts again. I see no point in giving you the pesky things, as in your book, if you don't agree, then it's a "kornspiracy." How can I possibly debate with a person whose brains have turned to concrete? DEBATE demands facts...those "stubborn little things." I never claimed it was a conspiracy. In fact, I see it as merely human nature coupled withe the pernicious nature of governments, which is what our Founders knew all to well. Ah, but they must've been "kornspiracy theorists," too. | | goodness sake kids, back to your corners! I think the birth certificate issue is a dead one. We can argue ALL day long. Bottom line, it is up to the courts to decide and hopefully we will get the much needed legislation that the most powerful person in the country should provide proof of citizenship! The actual topic here I believe that we all agree but want our own wording - I know I am just a little bit older than eight. | | | |

If it is not Ibn Barack Hussein Obama's place of birth that is in question then he must have must have some really terribly bad secret that he is determined to keep hidden at a cost of a million dollars...I am sure that his lawyers love him very much and hope he just keeps on paying them them. | | You have no intention of commenting, whiteout, because you can't manipulate facts the way that you (and a few others) love to manipulate fiction. Obama is exercising the same legal rights that every other citizen of this country is entitled to...the right to mount a defense when someone files a legal action against you and the right to keep your personal information private. Or are you and yours suggesting that just any ole person should have access to your birth certificate, school records, etc. Ever hear of identity theft protection? And dontcha just hate facts? Don't bother to answer...we've covered this before and you'd rather make silly accusations than live in the real world. | | | |

| | Laglen, I appreciate your effort to smooth things over, I really do, but this isn't by any means the first time I've locked horns over the dodge of "kornspiracies" imagined by Spall. I don't have "theories," conspiratorial or not; I have factual reports which she could have seen on even some of the same "mainstream" media outlets as I, all verified by relatives, teachers & officials, that virtually all the documentation Obama possesses has been hidden, using our tax money to do so, & that he in fact was born a British citizen. ALL THESE THINGS ARE PUBLIC RECORD. Not "theories." And I mean even the recordings of Kenyan & Indonesian officials & witnesses of his origins. Even Obama's own words condemn him for everything I've said. I think it's just lazy to call someone a name when you disagree, & use marginalization to discredit the person, rather than debate the facts available. Save that for people who are truly evil. Also, I have listed sources when I feel they aren't common knowledge. I take great pride in my research, & I refuse to waste my time "debating" with someone unwilling to do her own. The facts are out there; I've done MY homework, & it's been my experience that when people do their own, it's apt to stick better, & be more appreciated. Why should I do her work for her? Anyway, I've had it with her insults. IF she can learn to debate without insulting, I might have a serious topic to bandy about, but given her history of ducking behind her "kornspiracy theorist" label (frankly, that silly misspelling was almost cute the first time I saw it, but it's really old, now) for any topic she doesn't want to examine closely, I don't think I'll hold my breath...I mean, look! Just after your letter, she's already insulting Whiteheather! I grant you, Whiteheather gets sharp sometimes, but I've noted it's usually only with certain MyLotters. The rest of the time, she's sweet as peach pie! I think attacks on people's intelligence just naturally bring out the worst in most people. That's why I couldn't resist making her swallow some of her own medicine, with my "concrete" jibe. Actually, she's very smart--obviously!--but she does have a compartment in her mind which dismisses folks if she doesn't like their ideas, & that's worse than mere stupidity, because it's a blind spot. I have my own sometimes, & sometimes it takes a slap upside the head to recognize it. Rather than hold a grudge, I take a hard look at myself, & if I see it's true, I yank it out by the roots! Anyway, that's my theory, & I'm sticking to it, because it's a "theory" derived from much experience! Maggiepie "If the facts don't fit the theory, change the facts." ~ Albert Einstein | | | |

| | Whiteheather: P.S. Actually, it's closer to two million dollars by now Mr. Transparency's used of our money to hide his paper trail. Maybe I wouldn't be quite so hacked if he'd use his own damned money to cover his patoot. Of course, that's not going to happen. I mean, this man wouldn't share any of his funds with the rest of his family when they're living far below the American poverty line. Remember his uncle in Kenya, who makes something like $12 a year & lives in a dirt hut? Not a dime. If Obama sent the man $24 dollars, he'd double the fellow's yearly income! So if even his family gets tossed under the infamous bus, how high do you think we citizens rate on his give-a-damn-o-meter? Yeah, that's what I thought, too. Anyway, never mind Spall's blasts. | | Maggie, I am so shocked and hurt (not really) by your obvious discrimination when it comes to your little buddy and me. It's okay for her to play around with my username and insult me but, when I post something in return, I'm baaad? Was whiteheather even in this thread? No, she jumped in to give you a pat on the back and to take a shot at me but your attitude is that it's okay, she's just sharp with some folks. Sheesh.. I don't imagine kornspiracies, Mags, but you and a few others certainly do...and sooo many people are in on it! You say that you have factual reports that virtually all of Obama's personal documentation has been hidden...but what exactly does that prove? How is this any different from the normal actions of anyone else who is being sued? When a doctor, for instance, is sued for malpractice does he immediately turn over all documentation his legal adversary demands? If YOU were being sued, you YOU immediately turn over all documentation the opposing side demanded...financial records, educational records, medical/disability records? Of course not. It's your right to keep your personal information private unless the other side can convince a judge that it's pertinent to the case and he orders you to. So, tell me, why is it wrong for Obama to exercise the same legal right? The only thing that you have offered above are claims, not facts, and please don't insult my intelligence by suggesting that hard evidence is out there which I have somehow missed. If there were a birth certificate or anything else indicating that Obama was indeed the citizen of some other country, at the very least it would have been posted here a dozen times by now. In fact, you sidestepped my question about a Kenyan birth certificate. You use claims by Kenyan officials as "facts" yet have you asked yourself why they have yet to produce a birth certificate themselves? I don't automatically dismiss you, Maggie, but it's been my experience that, when you are challanged and have no answer to that challange, you become very sarcastic and throw the entire discussion out of the window. I have asked the same questions numerous times, not because I compartmentalize anyone or any issue but because I've dealt with logic and facts my entire adult life so my questions in this area will relate to logic and facts. I don't expect to be able to have an actual discussion with you about this because your mind is already made up. Obama doesn't have the same legal rights as everyone else because, in your mind he's guilty. Officials in a corrupt country are speaking the truth when it comes to Obama because he's guilty in your mind. I will tell you this though, I'm not happy that the taxpayers are picking up the tab for Obama's legal defense nor am I happy that Taitz and Berg are making a fortune from *donations* so that they can continue to file suit after suit. What ticks me off the most is that members of our military have been used as pawns in this lawsuit game and, once a case is lost, they're tossed out like garbage...left to deal with the consequences of challanging orders on the advice of attorneys who have a personal agenda and no concern for their client du jour. I don't expect a response...or answers to my questions, Maggie, because as I've seen numerous times already, when I ask logical questions...I am dismissed. I hold no grudges. People will believe as they will and as both you and I are keenly aware, this is only the internet. | | | |
