Music can soothe the soul. So they say. I love slow jams. I love old school music like Grandmaster Flash, Chaka Kahn, Evelyn Champagne King, all types of 70's music. I love some rock n roll. I love AC DC. I love the spinners. Barry Manilow, yes I am a fanilow!lol I love to be able to listen to a medley mixture of all of these. Its funny because my daughter steals my MP3 player just to listen to my choices. It cracks me up when Im cooking dinner and I hear her singing along to Meatloaf or Journey. If I listen to certain songs it literally puts me in a better frame of mind. How bout you? What types of music move you? Do they change your moods? Happy MyLotting Music Lovers. dl

Maybe music isnt your thing. Do you read or watch movies, television. Maybe you bird watch. There has got to be somthing. Not everyone can enjoy music. That's what make the world great because everyone has different likes and dislikes. This creates the Great American Melting Pot. dl

I like classic rock. Funny thing is it can energize me or relax me. Either one. I love classical to relax or read to. I like jazz and blue grass to energize me. I think any kind of music is a positive outlet and very good for the soul. It has been a way of communicating down through the ages.

I don't really think that there are any certain genres of music that have the ability to change our moods. I think that all music has the ability to change our moods depending on what we want to get out of it. Besides that, I don't think that there are any genres of music that always fit into a nice little box based on the kinds of emotions that they evoke. I mostly listen to country music and let me tell you, the different songs of country music can really put you through the ringer when it comes to your emotions.

I love listening to songs with highlights on certain musical instruments. For example, songs by John Mayer and Everything But the Girl are usually highlighted by electric guitar accompaniments. I also like songs by Vanessa Carlton because of the piano accompaniment. I also love jazz music because of the saxophone in the background.

I don't know if this is an experience anyone else had, but until I was ten, I couldn't listen to slow music without crying. Of course when I was 22 I was finally diagnosed as bipolar, and looking back I can see where that sensitivity to music came from. My mom said from the time I was a baby, if a slow song came on the radio, I would bawl. Anyway, I'm happy to report I can listen to slow songs now and just enjoy them. I looked at the list of songs on my ipod the other day and it lists the genre of all the songs I have on it. It read country, country, alternative, R&B, pop, pop, Inspirational, Christian, country, blues...It had everything but rap.

80's music change my mood. There are from Culture Club,Huey Lewis and the News, Duran Duran, Spandau BAllet, Madonna , Cindy Lauper , Debbie Gibson to name a few. why this songs change my mood, because hearing this songs makes me happy. It is like remiscin from the past when I was younger and gas is cheaper. I love songs from those artist, I even memorized more 80's music than new generation of music now a days. I love the slow jams of the 80's and even from the 70's.I love BEe Gees, i love Carole King, James Taylor. I love music from the past, even Elvis and Dione Worwick and Peabo Bryson.

All genres of music can change my mood. I can listen to sad music, and feel sad, happy music and feel happy etc. Some more is more subtle and can actually cause negative moods in some people. As a musician, I have grown up with all genres of music. I trained on the piano, classically, and classical music can actually be very relaxing. My favourite is modern jazz because I played it a lot when I worked in a nightclub. I find this music relaxing and stimulating at the same time, if you get my meaning. _Derek

well, i can listen to all types of music. but my favorite is alternative rock. not the screamo ones though, but sometimes i do listen to them. it actually depends on my mood. like when i;m mad, i listen to hard rock and metal until my frustration's gone then i listen to more mellow stuff. when i'm happy, i like listening to bubble gum pop.

I love all types of music. If I am depressed, I like listening to dance music. If I am angry, some great rock music helps me feel better. Sometimes I really like to listen to Josh Groban. He has a beautiful voice and it puts me in a contemplative mood. It all depends how I am feeling and what mood I would like to be in. Music is a huge force in my life. It is rare that I don't have some type of music playing.

You sound like me. I like all kinds of music. It just depends on the mood I am in. Right now as I sit here "MYLOTING" I m listening to mellow saxaphone jazz. It puts me in a creative mood. Other times I like to listen to mellow ballads. Still other times I like some"GET DOWN" music if you know what I mean. For those who do not what "GET DOWN" music is I'll give a brief description: It is music that makes you want to get up and dance. Still other times when I am missing my ex-wife I play oldies ballads that remind me of her. Oh well that's another story at another time. Believe it or not as an African American male I even Like some "COUNTRY WESTERN" music. One of my favorite CW groups is "ALABAMA" The one I like especially is "YOU'VE GOT THE TOUCH". I live in Asia and here in Thailand "KAROKE" is big and that's one of my farorite songs to sing. In answer to yor original question "YES" most certainly music can alter whatever mood you might be in at the time. Frankly I don't know what I would if there were no music in the world. What about "YOU"?

Almost any type of music can change my mood. Or it can drive me up the nearest wall. Hard rock and old fashion country are two that drive me crazy.

I like all types of music also. And it depends on the mood I'm in. When I write in the mornings, I listen to my albums. Psychedelic music (Hendrix, Spooky Tooth, Funkadelic, Cream, Black Sabbath, etc.), Sixties music including Motown, and some jazz. I listen to the music that bring back memories and my best ones are during the Sixties. When I work online I listen to some of the new school music such as Nelly, Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Cameo, and Ja Rule.

I enjoy quite a wide variety of music. I find that something like Pink Floyd or The Beautiful South can make me reflective and thoughtful. Pop music like Kylie or Abba can cheer me up. I listen to different singers and groups for different reasons. I love Meatloaf too and usually try to sing along, especially to something like Bat Out Of Hell.
