Yesterday my box came in the mail. A couple of years ago, I saw an ad for Leigh Valentine's non-surgical face lift. It's basically a facial masque that you apply at home. I tried it and I liked it a lot. Makes my skin look nice. :-)

So it had been a few years and I decided that I wanted to do it again. I was going to wait until the weekend, but that box was just sitting there saying, "now, do it now, you know you want to." So I did.

Basically you mix a powder with a liquid and brush it onto your face and neck. Then you relax and don't talk or anything while it hardens. It's supposed to stay on for half an hour.

Well... 25 minutes into this, Richard, Dearra and Naomi come into the room and see me sitting there with my hair tied back and what looks like dried glue on my face. And once they saw what was going on, the stinkers tried to crack me up.

And I'm waving at them to get out of the room, but nobody's listening. So finally I had to laugh. Crack went my face. Lucky for them, the half hour was mostly up by then anyway, so I didn't have to kill anybody.

But next time I'm locking the door. angry

I'm glad that you made it almost to the 30 minute time limit. I know how kids can be. I not only had experiences like that (and still do) with my own sons who are grown now but I used to do things like that to my own mother.

My sister and I would come in the room wherever my mother happened to be reading a book or watching TV and sit on either side of her. We'd then proceed to pretend to yawn, making wildly exaggerated sound effects. It wasn't long before my mother would start to yawn. At that point, we became demons and would make our mother laugh, interrupting her yawn. The process would then be repeated until my mother started making references to murder. We loved it! She did, too, apparently, because she never did try to kill us. thumbup

I agree with locking the door next time you try this. It's almost uncanny the way kids show up when you don't want them to and, of course, they usually love mischief.

I remember one time at my parents' house we were watching TV and Dad, my sister and I were making all kinds of fun of the commercials. Mom actually started throwing things at us!

when i was younger i did burst into my mum's room while she had some masque stuff on her face. it was always hilarious when my siblings and i tried to get into a conversation with her at that moment. we always made up something important that she had to respond immediately. my dad on the other hand, just kept on with the slapstick jokes..rofl

after reading your post, i realize now what would be going on in her head when we put her through that..!
