well from my last discussions i was interested in attending the al gore event in our country but i don't know that its that expensive. Even if i can buy it its not worth it.
its a little bit ironic that he talks about conservation and such but gets rich talking about it.

That is simply not correct. Check his tax returns when he was Vice President.
He still makes money doing speaking engagements that are not about the environment and he sits on a few boards of directors and also has a university position or two.
He has started a few companies of late, two of them on the internet to deal with environment and human rights.
He was donating any of his enviromental speaches to the cause. He donated all the money from the movie and book to the enviroment and built a non-profit web business to do the same. I do not know if he still is donating his speeches about the environment today but he has mutible incomes and did not exactly start from scratch.
There is some family wealth in there some where. The family wealth was probably spent up years ago because he spent several years in public service and most do not get wealthy off of that.
Most politicians can make pretty good money on speaking engagements alone but he has been a busy boy since he left office.

I just doulbe checked.
All his speaking ingagements and sales from the books and movies concerning An Inconvinient Truth (which was the start of this discussion) are donated to charity.
Yes he has made quite a bit from his carbon off set company and is making a bundle from his new media corperation.
All proceeds from anything to do with the movie from anyone involved in making the movie are donated to education of climate issues.

He doesn't make Palin money though. We are Americans, and we believe in capitalism. It is like anything else in live, if is worth doing it isn't cheap.

He doesn't make Palin money? Before his movie and warming tour speeches began, Al was worth only a measly $1 million. Now, he's worth $100 million. He makes plenty but now that he's bought the $8.3 million mansion in California, Tipper will be taking her community property share. And even with half gone, he'll still have more money than Palin.

Rollo, I have seen Palin getting as much as $1,500 per person at some of her "speaking" engagements. Gore also made a lot of money when he took a seat on the board of Apple. He owns so much stock that Steve Jobs was ask what effect the divorce would have on the stock. Gore made is money legally, and he has been very successful at promoting his prospective on earth. It could be worse, he could be like D!ck Cheney who made all of his money because of his connections in the government, and because he fell asleep on a fishing trip and became CEO of a major corporation.

I'm glad you're not going to waste your money... I wouldn't go hear Gore speak if it were for free and a mile down the road. And his message? I can find as many scientists who say it's hogwash as Al can find that say we're doomed... I almost was swayed about a decade ago (before Al Gore), but now I'm not.

The US Navy has been saying this for 30+ years.
I knew a gentleman that went with them under the Ice cap every year to access what was happening. He was a bit of a strange duck and held four different doctorates which explains a lot. LOL
He was contracted by the Navy to give his assesments each year and report to the President..
We simply cannot double the earths population every few years and not be having some kind of impact.
Our military has been basing war games and societal impact plans for climate change since 1968. The US Navy has no doubt that the world is changing faster then anytime in history.
The amount of trash on the side of the road has to be having some kind of impact alone....
The only science that does not support that we are somehow changing the earth are the same guys that work for BP and Dupont.

Oh I believe the earth is getting warmer, but the verdict is still out as to how much of it's man caused and how much of it natural cyclical event... And then I'd like to see what one tiny little volcanic eruption does to the estimate. And if I'm not mistaken, the guys predicting the earth would go to he** in a handbasket, said that would happen about two decades ago.
