My sister in law is such an observer.

You have some encouraging replies here- all assessing your sister in law's personality. Hopefully you may have something to look forward to. My partner keeps mentioning a function for my 50th, and I have to keep reminding her that I really do not want anything like that. If she really wants to spend the money, we could take a trip or weekend away.

hi jugsjugs I just hope your sister-in-law has something nice in mind for your birthday. yes some people do not miss a thing and sometimes I do not know if thats good or bad. My one table mate has been onto me about a stupid wound I have on my right arm, she saw it was swollen and bruised and kept insisting it needed stitches. I know it does not but I had a mishap today on my way to breakfast and banged the wound on the door. It came completely open and was bleeding all over the place. so I got to my table mainly to get a napkin to mop up the blood and she insisted I take myself to the nurse, so I did and its now well padded and taped u p and a lot of antibiotic ointment on it. so it should heal. I just had not wanted to make such a fuss. but I am glad the nurse fixed it up.I do know that my table mate meant well and I hope your sister-in-law did too. I can imagine you get sick having to explain your poor feet to all who ask and I can understand that too.

Sounds like you are lucky to have her for a sister-in-law. Most in-laws don't care as much about their families as it sounds she does for you. I hope she plans a very exciting 40th birthday gathering for you. Hope all goes well with your health issues.

I hope its something fun that doesn't include being on your feet my feet look lovely, but they hurt like anything!

Hi jugsjugs I too will be celebrating my 40th soon, well March next year, but it isn't far off. I was going to take my kids to DisneyLand Paris with my mum but have realised that nearly all the passports have run out so it certainly won't be possible financially now. I worry about what is going on in my brother's head because I it was his 40th birthday this year and I did a few embarrassing things for him which he did laugh about and reminded me that mine wasn't that far away

I think she just want to get close to you. I think she trying to be nice to you and she want you to feel very welcome to their family. Not all sister in law is like her so i think you are lucky to have a sister in law like her. I also want to have a sister in law like her. I think i will not feel out of place if all my sister in law is like her..Happy Mylotting..

I like your sister-in-law, she's a bit like me. Well, she's right you know. If your toes don't look right, then you need to see a doctor, and you know this. She's only looking out for you. As for the 40th birthday thing, I think that is super cool that she's got plans for your b-day.

It sounds like she is very good at what she does in the nursing home and just carries it over in her relationship with you.She may end up planning something totally fun for your birthday.

It seems like your sister in law has your best interests in mind, and while it might turn out that she's being a little overbearing, she only means the best for you. I am sorry you have something wrong with your feet, the last time I saw my grandmother I looked at her feet and her toes were swollen and blue. I forget what she said was the problem, if she even got that checked out. She's having a lot done two hip replacements and a knee (if not both knees) surgeries. Hiya jugs, My Sister in Laws are not as attentive as that. She means well I think. She wants you to be in good shape and well that´s all. Maybe they will find you a good treatment for whatever it is and with her being a Nurse well she can help you out with it.

U are so lucky to have such a nice sister in law At least, she volunteered to do something for u, in the hope of u feeling better. hehe ^_^ Maybe partly, it's due to her nature of work, and thus this keen observation has already been with her, to wherever she goes.. haha =D Whatever it is, It always feels good to have ple asking us about things, rather than they see it, and yet ignoring.. hehe

Well, I am rather sure that whatever your sister in law has planned it will be good for you. I had a nice get together with my family on Saturday also. It felt good after a few months of rather being estranged due to my daughters bad choices. But now things have been forgiven and set to rest and it was a nice time.

She apparently noticed your toes and took an interest due to her field of work, and probably commented about your birthday to divert the attention from the topic of your toes. Maybe she thought that you would be embarrassed and quickly changed the subject and this immediately came to mind.
