More than two years ago when we first noticed this little angel snoring in his sleep. Since that time, we never stopped searching for the answer why he sleep that way. And I started the search, here on myLot.
His battle started when he was still a year and two months old. That was the time when he lost his breathing on night. We almost lost him.
We had been to a lot of doctors too. But only this July that we got a confirmation from a specialist, that he has sleep apnea.
The fight continues, not only for him but also for me to find the right source of funds, for medication and the surgery. You gave strength not to give up, with your support, your prayers, and with a little share of your blessings.
Then they came to the rescue. TV5 Alagang Kapatid, a local TV program that aims to give hope and help the needy with their medical problems promised to help us look for the right institution for Zayzay' operation.
Three months ago when the program brought us here in Manila and with us everytime Zayzay have to be in St. Luke's Medical Center for check-up, tests and until the actual operation.
December 6, 2010. The date for what I called the BIG DAY for Zyruz Jayneil came. My wife was in tears seeing him crying and in pain, while she left the O.R. But the proceedings run smoothly, in just an hour.
Days passed, and now he sleeps normally, without snoring, without stop breathing, without the apnea. He eats better now than ever before. And he's back to his hyper-activity, and for being a menace to his playmates.
And now, we can say The Fight is Over...
So, Thank God for we have YOU...

i made sure not to forget to ask this thing from the surgeon, if it's possible to happen again. and he said, it will not be coming back happen. since his tonsils were removed, apnea will never happen again to him but he wants to make it sure with another sleep test in three months. thanks for participating.

Very touching words from you Neil. Glad it is all over and hope he'll grow up to be a brilliant boy. I know how you and your wife faced the tense moments when little zayzay was wheeled to the operating theater as anything could have gone wrong then but I am very confident that God is taking good care of everything and the prayers helped in making the operation a great success.

Seeing a mylotter gets out of a very long tunnel, makes you believed there's a GOD, isn't it.
. This is indeed the Greatest CHristmas gift ever and inspiration to people like us or some who have sickness that really isn't worse compare to sleep apnea
may you help those people with the same brand of sickness in the children.
Merry CHristmas.

Hi Neil. I cannot express just how happy I am that Zayzay is now sleeping through the night without even snoring. What a massive relief this is for you and your wife!
It renews my faith in humanity. So many here in myLot did what they could to help you, then that TV5 Alagang Kapatid came along and helped get you to the right people who did the testing and surgery at no charge to you. It is truly a Christmas miracle and I'm so very happy for you and little Zayzay.
I saw that photo of you, Bebie and Zayzay, along with other myLot members, on Facebook and I could see the happiness in your faces. Also, watching that short video that Zayzay did, thanking everyone, it was soooooooooooo precious! It brought tears to my eyes.
Oh, on a different note, I've noticed, through time, that Zyruz is looking more and more like his daddy. I'm sure that makes you proud. We could call you two, Neil and his Mini-Me.
Again, I'm so very happy for all of you that the fight is finally over and that the operation was such a success.

I am late in responding because I’ve been busy but I am so glad I got to your discussion neildc. I cannot find the words to describe how grateful I feel that our prayers have been answered and that Zayzay is now sleeping peacefully every night and is no longer in any danger. That is the most wonderful news. Good luck to you and your family. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happier New Year!

Hello neil!
Thanks for posting this summary of your kid's condition and the struggle you went through. I didn't really know this story until now.
If you hadn't found me on FB, I never would have known that such piece of story existed and from a fellow countrymen at that.
I wanna say how happy I am to hear this. Definitely, your fight is over. We know that there will be more fights to conquer so I pray that you exhibit the same strength and faith.
To be honest, sometimes, I forget that God answers prayers. My mom's case? It was a "NO" from God. That was His answer. Someday I'll be able to accept fully that it was His will and was for a great reason.

This is the first time I happened upon one of your post's so did not know of your problem. I am so happy for you that you were able to fix this problem.
I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea several years ago and the only solution for me at that time was a c-pap machine. It made a difference but I never got use to it so did not use it on a regular bases.
Space forward a few years and retirement. I had another occasion to have another sleep study. This time they could not diagnose me. The difference? The lack of stress. I was under a lot of stress in a city I had not spent most of my life in because of a job. Once that was behind me I never had any more problems.
So good that you have worked this out. Apnea can be a killer if not corrected. As you know it effects your heart over time as well as other organs.
May the Lord continue to be with you and your Little Angel.

What a relief when I read the rest of your post and discovered that Zayzay was cured by an operation. When I read the first part, I feared the worst. Thank God for the person who steered you in the right direction to get help. May God bless your family and your benefactor.

Yay for your son! My boyfriend snores very heavily too and sometimes it also seems like he stops breathing, but only for a brief second or two at a time. If I can have my way I'd like him to consult a doctor for it too, for his own sake. Do you have any idea how much it would cost?

We are really happy that after all this time the fight was over, every time i look at Zayzay i can't find any trace that his been on this condition being a hyper active child with or without Apnea :D. I will call this as a blessing becoz through this i met you and your family not to mention the other Mylotters too. As i recall the days i read your blog bout this kid i was really touched as you say you've been a CYBER BEGGAR for your child but it was well paid off :). Hope to bond with Zay anytime soon :).
Love you Zayzay
Godbless!
