who is sitting with who? lmao this is too funny to pass up here is a list of attendees and their dates http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/State_of_the_Union/slideshow/state-union-2011-bipartisan-pairs-sit-12751900 Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., left, tweeted that she will join Sen. John Thune, R-N.D., in "the spirit of bipartisanship." Some observers have pegged the couple as the odds-on favorite for "prom king and queen" at the State of the Union address and my favorite Senate Assistant Majority Leader D*ck Durbin, left, a Democrat, will sit with fellow Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk, a Republican, who will attend his first State of the Union address. "I'm bringing the popcorn; he's bringing a Coke with two straws," Durbin joked to reporters last week Atleast they are showing a sense of humor.

THis whole thing is just stupid. They are calling each other and asking to sit with each other. I mean really. Is this high school? Is it the prom? Why do they need to "arrange" teh whole thing...let them just go in and sit themselves among themselves. Why all the micromanaging?

I have been trying all day to think of a way to make a drinking game out of this. I was thinking of maybe a shot every time a congressman stands when their partner doesn't...or vice versa. still haven't got it all down yet. I still have to tie in some of Obama's standard package of catch phrases some how to the corasponding standing/not standing......Oh hell with it, I'll just drink through the whole thing anyways.

Darn, I must have missed the crowning...lol! I'd have to agree they should be the favorites although maybe John Kerry and John McCain could give them a run for their money...lol...talk about an odd couple! Annie

Nancy Pelosi apparently told Eric Cantor that her dance card is full and refused to sit with him. She's going to the ball with Rep Roscoe Bartlett. Dating can be fraught with disappointments.

The member of Congress who first suggested this...and I don't remember who it was...suggested it as a show of solidarity following the attempted assassination of one of their own. It's symbolic.
