With a household of three children, my home stays really clean.

I am happy to say this. Yesterday, someone made me feel even happier when they acknowledged a pleasant comment to me. Yesterday, the cable guy came to our home. He switched out of cable box because the power in it blew out. I told him that I thought that my children somehow tampered with the cable box because it wasn't working properly. He then went on to ask me how many children did I have, I told him three. He was so shocked. He was so amazed that I had three kids. He also asked me the ages of my three children too. He then told me, "For you to have three kids, you really do keep your house so clean." Looking at how clean that it was, he would have never known that I have three kids. He told me that he has three too, and that he does not like a nasty house either. He said that his wife is the same way too. She likes to vacuum the carpet whenever it gets dirty. My house does get messy and I make sure that it is clean at all times, if possible. I always have a habit of cleaning up because I just may never know when someone is coming over to my house. I have three kids, but I try my best to make sure that my house is as clean as it can be, even if I did not have any kids at all.

I wish i could say my house was just that clean with two teenagers. Sometimes i think it gets worse instead of better. I try my best to keep a clean house but sometimes it just takes a toll on me.

Three kids is alot to take care of still keep a home clean. Being taught or having a feeling of cleanliness at an early age really help when you have kids and husband to clean up after. And if you teach them to clean up after themselves it helps all stay clean as well. Gives a good feeling of pride.

Hi cream, thats really nice ! A clean house is far more inviting, warm and attractive than a house filled with expensive gadgets but not well kept. It is you and your family who has to take credit for that .I too am particular about keeping y house clean. In fact,I am perpetually tidying up the kitchen ,bathrooms or the sitting room also the garden...

Hi! It is not easy to keep the house clean and tidy when you have kids at home, especially those below the age of 5. These kids are usually likes to throw things and will never keep their toys all the time. I have 2 kids, I if I were to keep the house clean like you, I have to follow at their back all the time and keep keeping their toys for them. and that is really tiring to do that all the time. My house will only look clean and tidy during night after they went to sleep, and it will back to normal where many things like toys and clothes are here and there.

Really? How do you manage to keep your house clean when you have 3 kids? Don't they play around? When my daughter was just a kid, she is left with our maid. When we come from work to eat lunch (it's a walking distance from the office) i would find the house so clean and tidy. I would be angry with her because i know she didn't allow my kid to play with her toys. I told her to just let her play and not restrict her. She can keep the toys after we arrive from work. That's the time we get to play with her also. I think when you have kids, it's understandable that it will be unruly.

Hi. SIMPLYD. Oh yes, my house does get messy when it can. I just try to keep it clean. I usually clean my house up before it gets really messy. I have three kids and it can be rough at times. They play with their toys, but I make them pick them all up too.

That must make you feel really great. I imagine being a cable installer he has seen a lot of houses. So it has to be pleasant for him to be in one that is nice and clean. And it's great that you are teaching your children to pick up after themselves and to take pride in having a mess free home.

Good for you! A clean home makes me happy. It's harder with teenagers!! they never seem to clean up after themselves. It was easier when they were younger.

hello cream, Having a clean house/environment is how we are used to it. I also have 3 kids and i never had a stay in housemaid for a long time. I only hire a nanny each time i gave birth since i gave birth thru c/s op and the longest time for me have a nanny is 1 year. I taught my kids to be organized as early as 2 years old,by teaching them to put back their toys to where it should be placed. Now my kids are grown ups and we are all helping with household chores. They can even cook simple dishes. It's nice to see that our house is always clean and looks fresh right? I can imagine how bright and organize your house dear happy weekend soon

Sounds very neat and clean, exactly as I like to keep ours. It gives me great pleasure each and every morning to wake up and see it nice and clean. The cable guy has probably really seen some really messy homes, so it must be a sweet pleasant surprise to him to see a very clean and net home as yours.

I try to keep my house real clean too. It is easier in the long run to clean as it gets dirty then to clean after it has been dirty for a while.Like you said you never know when someone is coming over and if you don't clean it when it needs to be clean it is harder to clean it.

I think it has to depend on how much storage space you have, not on whether you get out the vacuum cleaner or the dust cloth whenever you see a spot of dirt. I found that when I bought my bookcases, and file cabinet, found places to store my cookbooks and magazines that that helped a lot. I do find that it also has to do with attitude. If you are brought up to believe housekeeping is what you do when you failed at everything else, you will not be a good housekeeper. Now if you are told that housekeeping is wonderful, then you will have no trouble keeping a clean house. But really it has to do with having the right equipment and also having places to put things so they do not clutter up the house. Now all I need to do is to wait until the threat of flood is over so I can put the Christmas Tree and the boxes back downstairs.

I have three kids and I wish mine was clean all of the time. I can just not keep up with the laundry and the twins and the potty training toddler and all of the cleaning during the day. It makes me feel bad but that is the truth of it. My house is a mess right now as I am typing this. I should be cleaning but I am relaxing.
