Islands in the world

The world has many islands from Australia which is a huge island to a very small island that can be walked around in the Pacific Ocean like Beachcomber Island. I stayed there in a very large dorm and it was my first taste of paradise. I went on a boat trip across to Treasure Island. I was 20 years old on my trip around the world which was that trip I am talking about. When I was 29 years old on my way to New Zealand I stopped off at French Polynesia, the Cook Islands and Samoa. I adore tropical islands with white sandy beaches and a coral reef off shore for snorkeling. Which islands do you wish you visit in the future? If you could have a free trip to an island which one would it be and why?

Hi maxi, I want to visit any tropical island. Accepting Lankawi and Penang islands of Malaysia I did not visit any island of the world. I hard Maldives the coral islands of Indian ocean are very charming. If I get chance first I shall go to Maldives. The sandy beaches and the wood of coconut trees of there are waiting to welcome the visitors. Will you not accept their invitation?

Hi my friend Bhanusb, Yes, I already visited the Maldives when my trip to Central America fell through. I loved seeing all the coconut palms and the sandy white beaches on the dreamy like little islands. In Malaysia I adored visiting Penang and Tioman Island. I must be more careful when I do my next trip to Asia due to have accidents there in the past.

Hi maxi my friend, I enjoy your stories and experiences of your trips. I have strong desire and dream to travel the world. But my financial capacity does not allow me to fulfill my dream. Had you gone to the deep forests like Amazons. Have you observed the wild life and the life of aboriginal people. I hope in your next discussion you will focus on this subject. You will tell and I shall listen. Thanks a lot. My best wishes to you and your children.

Hi Jill Hill, I know that you would adore it in Belize. I loved visiting laid back Caye Caulker. The reef is very colorful with a variety of interesting marine life.

I have visited the Hawaiian and enjoyed them and would like to go back again. I have also visited some of the Alaskan Islands. I have never visited the South West Pacific but my father served the during WWII. He spoke highly of the people that he met there. I would love to travel in that area and hop I can some day.

My husband and I have talked about visiting the Estonian islands: Saaremaa, Hiiumaa, Muhu and Vormsi. I have been to Estonia and I have visited most of the cities, but I haven't been to any of the islands and I think that it could be very interesting to explore those islands. I also plan on visiting some of the Danish island where I haven't been yet for instanse an island called Fur in the nothern part of Denmark. In my own part of the country there are also some islands that I didn't visit yet (Skaroe, Drejoe, Hjortoe etc) I am not sure where I would go if I got a free trip to an island, because there are a lot of places that I would like to visit I would probably choose an island somewhere in Asia for instanse in the Phillippines or in Indonesia.

I also have visited Estonia's mainland but not yet its islands. They might be as gorgeous as the island I visited in Finland. I hope that you and your husband will have a lovely time going to the Estonian and Danish Islands.

It is very interesting to read your travel experiences especially since you have visited some very unusual places on the earth...I too love travelling and wouldn't mind taking a year off and just travel to all the places.the only snag is the endless number of embassies I need to visit in order to get a visa to all those places...I would love to visit the Andaman and Nicober island which is made up of a number of islands, and also Maldives which apparently has 2000 odd islands ...

Well, I don't know much about those tropical islands, although I would surely like to visit one on one day. One island I've been long dreaming to visit is Iceland. I've heard there are many volcanoes and hot springs. I would like to take a bath in one of these. There is also nice and untouched nature. I am sure I will reach this place one day!

I think that Iceland has amazing looking natural scenery and it would be excellent for photography I have heard that Iceland is a stunningly beautiful island in a natural way. It is meant to be superb for Photography. I would be able to afford to fly there in the future because it is nearby. Taking a bath in the hot spring would be a fantastic moment. I saw a volcano in St Lucia and bathed at hot water beach in New Zealand. Good luck with visiting Iceland.

Islands have always fascinated me because of their size, especially the smaller islands, Australia, though an island is a continent and very large, it is the same as any other large land mass. Things like Tasmania, New Zealand and Japan though still large feel more like islands to me. I would like to visit them all, the impossible dream would be to visit all the islands that fascinated me when I was younger that appeared in books I read, like Easter Island, Galapagos, Bermuda, Bahamas, Seychelles, Madagascar, Hawaii, Canary Islands, Azores Islands, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago etc, Need to travel the world for that and island hop.

Islands... hum, I've been to some of the barrier islands on the Atlantic coast and in the Gulf off Texas... Other than that... I guess Great Britain and Long Island (you know the one New York City is part of) are most of the islands I've been on - oh, and Vancouver Island and... is San Francisco partly on an island?

I've been to a few islands, yours of course :-) And several of the smaller ones in the UK. And to Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Haven't been to a lot of islands in Norway, not due to a lack of islands but because I just can't get around to travel in my own country. Which is stupid, I went for a long weekend a bit further west last weekend and it looks great there. Slightly wet, but that's no surprise. My next island trip is to Iceland. It's so weird out there, I just love the scenery. I hope neither Hekla or Katla decide to have a big eruption, at least not before we're there. I think we can all handle being stranded for some days, no children etc, but if they break out before we won't get there at all. I'm travelling with friends from the UK that haven't been there before, so we've rented a big car and a flat in Reykjavik.
