Well, personally as a Christian, I feel it is important to vote. Even if you do not always agree with the people that are running, if you don't vote you have no real say in anything especially in complaining or backing someone or something. Too many times the people who are most upset about something might have been able to be more of a say if they voted and then let their voices known.

I agree that it is very important to vote. However, people that pay no attention to whats going on, people that wont take the time to look, should NOT vote. This is how Obama got elected the first time. People that will vote based on emotion rather than intelligence, should stay home.

I don't vote in national elections. Never have. It doesn't make the slightest bit of difference because there isn't a "Can we please have a political party that isn't out to make millions for itself and screw everyone else" option.
The day I see a politician or a political party that actually stands for something sensible and reasonable, I will reconsider. Since I won't live to be 1,000 years old, I don't think it's very likely.
As for the process, it's fine. Democracy is still the best form of government we have. It's the people in power (and the people behind them) who are the problem, not the system.

I don't believe everyone SHOULD be voting anymore. I don't think anyone has the right to determine who should or shouldn't vote, but as a general guideline, I wish people who don't know what they are doing would just stay home that day.
If you vote based on the best last name, the most photogenic or the candidate someone else told you to vote for, you should stay home and let the voters who really take time with these decisions do a better job. Too many people are not making up their own minds based on facts and just voting for the one someone they like told them to vote for.
It's hard enough to outvote the people who are intentionally trying to take advantage of others in this country, we could use less "ditto-voters".

Even people who do not vote have a voice - it is saying "I don't care who we get stuck with".
Personally, I do care: and, I will be voting again in 2012. Even if the person I vote for is not elected, at least I can say "I told you so".
