I thought this traditional food was quite unusual. http://dsclick.infospace.com/ClickHandler.ashx?ru=http%3a%2f%2fwww.ministryoftofu.com%2f2011%2f03%2fboy-urine-soaked-eggs-listed-as-local-specialty-intangible-cultural-heritage%2f&coi=239137&cop=main-title&c=prodegemeta3.swagbucks&ap=2&npp=2&p=0&pp=0&pvaid=7111ef70a809477fa11a8e9014b4e18c&ep=1&euip=76.199.165.58&app=1&hash=94A8A85FB0E3D6F078BEDEC4DB266DAD Have you eaten anything knowingly that somehow came in contact with urine? Would you or have you tried such a thing?
The article does mention it was used in ancient medicines which I'm sure is true. I did a few searched and there are many faiths that say consuming urine is a way to tell illness and a way to keep you in good health.
I don't think this practice is for me though...

I would not want to eat that or anything touched with urine. Although it is sterile when it leaves the body it quickly picks up germs and bacteria!
My SIL has a SIL who lost 50 pounds injecting urine, in just 3 months. Other people drink it and have the same result. I'm not that desperate to lose weight!

I've never heard of it as a way to loose weight. Interesting.... but you know if you think about it which would be worse going thru surgery (gastric or lap band) or doing something like that? I don't know which is the lesser of both evils.

It is not for me either and yes very unusual. I have heard of some who do indulge in this type of practice for medicinal purposes. I can't say I would be rushing to try any of them, but you never know.
I tend to opt to things that have proven to be effective and are commonly used.

I agree I prefer more proven methods. I don't know anyone that would be willing to try them.

you're right. that IS an unusual custom, and not one I plan to indulge in.
I know there are some people that beleive there are health benefits in drinking their own urine, and well, if that's what they want to do.... yeah whatever.
but seeing as I wouldn't want to drink my OWN urine, I don't think I'll be in any hurry to consume anyone elses.

Truly no hurry here to drink it or consume it in any fashion.

hi 3 SnuggleBunnies oh gross yuck I have read many countries use urine for health sakes. my g its body waste so why would the stuff we get rid of have any value as its waste. No I have never ate anything contaminated with my own or anyone else's urine. the
though is stomach twisting to say the least.

I agree with you if your body already views it as waste why consume it again? What value could it possibly hold if it's already "waste"?

I don't think I could get myself to each that at all! I don't think I could get myself to do this under any circumstances! The thought of eating something that has touched urine is just too strange to me. Thanks for sharing this...I think.

It is very odd to reuse our bodily waste in such a manner hence the reason I posted it.
