As to this moment I know that these types of people needs help in all aspects like health, food, shelter, and monetary offers, yet many of them are just good actors and actresses in their craft to look helpless and dirty. When the twilight comes they would count their money with the others from the group of elders and youngsters. Some of them are one family group who just earn their living of asking alms from whoever they meet and from passenger buses and jeeps they rode to ask for alms.I can give my money to this fellow even if I am left hungry because he is really very weak and helpless and very hungry.Anyway I can walk back to my house to eat and just go back to what I wanted to buy.My only regret to these types of people is that they abuse to the availability of many individuals who are always ready to give their change to them
that they do not know how to work hard to have a decent living to support themselves.
Their future are always asking for help because this act was their only to have money in the instant.I think this must be stop so they would know how to live in a world of the true meaning why they exist,by not just begging but by having a decent job.

On my way to work, I will encounter two disabled and visually impaired persons. They do not ask for alms per se. They sell tissue packets (3 for $1). For me, if I do need the tissue, I would get it from them. There are times when I have some extra change, I would give them without asking for the tissue packets.
I think these people do make an effort to sell some things, instead of just asking alms per se. I know that there are many organizations that can help them find simple jobs, but some choose these route.
In some places, once you give alms, many other beggars would come rushing to you. I would be weary of doing so at such locations. I do pity these people to a certain extent. They are not able-bodied as many of us. If I have extra money, I would give. It all depends on the situation.

I have encountered before a person who is disabled and offer some help to let him have something to eat. When I was going home i have noticed him riding a taxi cab and no more disability can be traced on him, that I could not find a word to scold him of fooling anyone about his condition.I am mad and did not give him anything the next day I found him in the same place I first saw him.Any way their are real disabled person around the corner waiting to be given substantial help to alleviate his condition--those that are really true disable I am offering my help without any hesitations.

I can understand your hesitations in giving alms. Some of these beggars are fake. I'd rather help a real person who is in need.

Mom and I tries to analyze whether a person is really in need or just making it as their everyday work to ask people for money. When I was a kid and we are in a public market, there was this kid maybe around 11 or 12 years old. And put out his hand for you to gave him money. So my mom get some coins and give it to the kid. We were surprised that instead of thanking or just walking away with the money, he turned his palm down dropping the coins and made us see that he don't like that amount my mom gave. And then again begging mom for another money.
That is really crazy, if you're begging for money don't think that everyone you beg has a lot of money to give you paper bills!
We really got upset with that and from then on we choose which ones to give alms too. Some even rejects when I'm giving foods, they want cash!

You are a great observer my friend because I also encountered such individuals who just like to reecive money instead of foods for them ready to be eaten. These sorts of people are just puzzled of their cruel situations, that is why I just give what they wanted some change. Some of them like a 1 peso coin, other like a 25 centavo coin,
yet some likes a 5 pesos coin which is not big but the other who wants more I do not intend to gove what they wanted but I left them with the foods I like them to have.

That kid in the public market wants more, mom gave him 5 peso coin, but he dropped the coin! We're not rich so we could not give more than that, it happened a long year ago so you would expect 5 pesos is worth more than it is now.

Its really hard to trust people around us, specially beggars. Some of the beggars here in our country are part of gangs with modus that uses babies/children or old people or even blind people. You'll give these people money and it will just be going to the hands of these gang. Better not to help them financially, instead support Non government institution that aims to help these people, I think they have the right contacts and know better on what to do with these people.

I do not trust these people but I just give what they wanted or maybe I can give them cash to buy what they wanted to buy.

To many begging is an easy way of making money I also find it not different from what any scammer is doing. this group is getting bigger and bigger. Abusing your feelings.
If you always give money to the poor, if everyone is doing that they will never learn to work since this is easy made money.
Many times the beggars are better dressed as I am or I see very well dressed adult push kids forward to hold up their hands.
I won't give money anymore to nobody. Especially not if I am in need.
then I would give a piece of bread and you know what? Most beggars don't want that at all they want money so they can spend it the way they like. On things I would never buy because they are too expensive for me.
I can only agree with you.

I am not making their heads just begging for the rest of their lives because I teach them how to do with their things with a small amount. It is not just begging that makes their life but how they cope with each day.If you happen to pass by what I have given to them you could just say they really needed some assistance to make a living.I care for their welfare not just their living but also their health.Have you help anyone like them? There are something you should know about their efforts and goals in life. They like to achieve what others have achieve that is why they needed someone to uplift their living condition.

It depends on the situation. If the man who begs money is already very old has no capability to work anymore,I will gladly give money. But if the one who begs money is still young and has the ability to work,I won't give any money. Why does he need to beg money when he can make his own money.I think those who begs money that still have the ability to work are just lazy. They want easy money. They want to have money without working.I won't definitely give any amount to those.:(

I am giving help to old people especially when they are alone and very helpless yet there are other oldies that are bad influence like what I have meet before. She was begging for have short of money because she was going to Bulacan for a ride home,so I gave her 50 pesos to help because I thought there are other people who can also add and help her fare to the place. When I came back to check the woman, I just observe she was eating with other companions and then smoke and drink something hard
that I could not believe i was just fooled by an oldie. The next time I see one I just give them some loose change no more bills so they beg harder to others if they are just fooling around.

Hmmn...for me I will not give the money to the beggar but instead I will find a store where I could use that amount to buy some food;maybe a bread and tear it into to 2 and give to half part for him and half part for me...one must learn how to love his self first before knowing how to love others.

Anyway giving can also make us have more blessings in all aspects of our lives. It maybe a surprise because as I have learn to give I have just realized that I have more than what any person has that I must share what are my blessings to other who are less fortunate.I thank heaven for all my blessings not just my life but also my achievements in life.

Oh If i had only 20 bucks left in my pocket and then i would be needing that money, i think i have a right not to give them away. haha what if that is the only money i have and i need to pay for my ride home with that amount... its not being selfis but i think i am just being fare to myself.
I was told that it is okay to give, to be kind hearted but you should be able to give what is in excess of what you have. not to a point that in order to help you will have to borrow money from others too, or sacrifice the little that is left of your money.

You are true to your comments but I do not like to pretend that I was just giving to make myself popular but I have to give way in the name of humanitarian pity to someone in need.Anyway my house is not too far to walk and get another funds for my own shopping.

I actually don't give alms as a general rule, and by alms I mean money. I give food and other things----I regularly clean out the house to look for stuff to give away most especially clothes, and every once in a while some kids come over the house and ask for money but I ended up giving them empty bottles that they sell. I also give to charity in a form of a monthly pledge with World Vision wherein I am sending one child in a impoverished area to school and my pledge donation also helps his community to be self-sufficient.
So if a beggar comes to me I normally just shake my head to indicate no. I just don't help that way. I aim for long-term solutions to such problems. I can't help everybody, but I can do what I am capable of, which is to improve the life of one through education.

Hmmm.. First and foremost, I don't think it's 'easy' for people to beg. Well, come to think about it, if we're all able-bodied, I think it takes a lot of humility to start begging on the streets. However, I couldn't say the same to the type of people who have been brought up that way.
Anyhow, if I only have P20.00 in my pocket and there's a beggar, surely, I wouldn't give him/her my last cent. There are a lot of people who would pass through and if I gave him/her my last peso, then I would be the one standing there and begging.
I don't really know if it's 'right' to give to beggars, sometimes it just makes me think that they have more income by the end of the day than us who are 'working'. I have constantly seen beggars with cellphones and stuff. Therefore, I don't really 'give', I usually give to the Church instead.
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

I give to the beggar because my heart tells me that he needs more than I do.It is not the amount of money that you possess is important but the feeling of giving to the needy is very important as they are in need to survive. In this aspect however some as I have seen are just acting, that depends on their conscience,as they are really pityful and helpless but after a days receiving of alms--they can manage to smoke, and have some kind of gamblings. It is really very great to help to the really needy ones and I hope I have given the right ones.

It depends on many factors, first is I don't give money to fully capacitated individuals. There are lots of beggars who I think is capable of doing decent jobs like car cleaning, etc. but are just too lazy to do it. It also depends on where I was on that time, I am still at the vicinity of my work area, it would be impossible for me to give the whole amount because my house is very far from the city proper. It doesnt matter if I am hungry at that time because my hunger could always wait and I could easily give the money if I think that he/she really deserves it.

You are right there my friend but the essense of giving to the ones who are really in need of financial help are deserving to be given such assistance.I do not care if it is my only money left because I know heavens could give me another good virtues and graces, that I am thanking heaven to foresake me.
