hi indahfth try rinsing your mouth out with a mouthwash like Listerine then with water as it should get rid of that bitter
taste on your tongue.some viruses can do that to you. Try drinking
orange or a little apple juice something thats mildly sweet. It should help. And do drink plenty of water as if you get dehydrated your tongue can taste odd and your mouth very dry too.

Why not try a fresh unripe mango cut into small thin slices then dip into a soysauce with a chili and sugar to blend the taste. As flashpointer mentioned, ampalaya, I remember a native midwife of mother always ready with its ampalaya liquid to put into the tongue of a newly born infant.

I would brush my teeth and scrap my tongue. If the above methods doesn't work, i would go for food with strong taste such as garlic, onion or durians. All i want is to be rid of the bitter taste so it doesn't matter if my breadth smells for smell can be removed rather fast. Drinking more water do help as well because it washes the tongue and it would be nice to breadth via our mouth, allowing some air circulation in the mouth.

Sorry to read that you are sick, Indahfth, I hope you are better soon. For bitter taste in the mouth due to sickness, we eat lime pickle. If you can get it, eat some with rice, it will improve taste in your mouth. Get well soon!

Drink water. Perhaps some soda and water will help as well. SOme warm tea might be good after that. It would depend on what the reason for the bitter on the tongue might be. Bland foods are best when you are sick. Bananas, Rice, applesauce and toast are best.

As you have said at present you are sick, so maybe the medicine you have taken as prescribed by your doctor have caused the bitter taste in your tongue. If we are sick sometimes we lost our appetite to eat too.
To lessen the bitter taste in your tongue you could try brushing your teeth extra good, you can brush your tongue a bit too then rinse with mouth wash. If this don't work you could also try 2 tablespoon of cider vinegar and gargle it around your mouth. My friend had tried it before and he said it works. The taste may not be good but I think it may help.

Perhaps the bitter taste on your tongue is to encourage you to drink lots more water. The way to get better when you are sick is to drink lots of water or take in a lot of fluids, like soups and juices.
For nutrition because you arent eating, take those nutritious drinks, like milo. Here we have drinks that has cereal in it. Those are useful when you cant do much cooking.
Hope you feel better soon!

First have a look in your mouth at your tongue.
What does it look like? Bitter we taste with the back of our tongue.
If your tongue looks grey or there are cuts in it you might be dried out. So drink a lot of water.
The bitterness also can come from the stomach. The only thing you can do as long as you are sick is keep eating little bits of food that is not irritating the stomach more and takes away this bitter taste in your mouth. Chewing gum, peppermint etc might help as well.

hi there, I often feel what you feel whenever I'm sick. If it happen to me, my mother will give me some sugar to be put on my tongue. Then, I'll have other meal to eat. The taste of sugar can't eliminate the bitter taste on the tongue but it can reduce it, so I can eat other food better. You may try it. Hope you get better soon.
I think the better way to eliminate your bitter taste is by recovering your health. If you are healthy, you would not feel that. LOL...
