In a book I'm reading it's showing how to make your own custom drip irrigation for your garden. It looks neat but as your flower beds change you would need a layout and even a whole new system of things. I've never done this but I would like to if I knew it would work the way I needed it to. Has anyone made their own?

We've never been lucky enough to have a great garden at our home, but it is something that we would like to be able to do in the future. With that said, from the research that I've seen on doing your own irrigation for your garden, it doesn't look like it would be something that would be too terrible to do on your own. However, you do have to realize that there will be times that you would have to dig everything up and reorganize your system.

I tried this once with an old hose but it just didn't work very well. I went back to having the hose at a drip and moving it around the plants I wanted to water. That was when I lived in the desert, I don't have to do that now as my plants get plenty of water since I moved back to an area friendly to human, plant and animal habitation!

hi again just lost my whole response just zipped away g rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.my mom when I was a kid back inS outh Dakota sewed up yards of canvas hosing to drip irrigate our huge veggie
garden. we made our own and attached the large hose to
the irrigation water coming into our farm. this was back in the 1940ts but the same thing could be done today and probably you o could buy the drip irrigation hose or yes you could make your own too.It did work for my mom and her huge vegetable garden. we always had loads of produce and sold some all summer. You would not need the huge sized ones my mom made. she just stitched u p and it had holes in it to drip water on the garden,

I once made a sort of drip irrigation with an old hose. I wanted to see it it worked, but I guess the hose had some holes than what it should. I was copying a drip irrigation system my brother had, but he had special ends in each hole so that the water would not waste.
