I wasn´t going to post this, at least not so early. But I read a post from a mylotter and he said that his friends wouldn´t have him at their homes. Then he asked if we would. I said I wouldn´t, as he is not my friend. And that goes for a lot of friends online and in real life which are just acquaintances. But there are some people who become closer for one reason or another. I also read about Giftsandbags today. I didn´t know she was at the hospital and I DO care.
Maxine is a lovely friend who lives in the other side of the world. She will come to South America for some days with her 2 children. I am looking forward to see them. I´m thinking hard what to have as food when they come as they are vegans. I guess I will have to study a bit.
Have you ever met a mylot friend? Would you like to, if you haven´t? Do you feel that mylot has widdened your circle of real friends? Share!

Last year a mylot friend came to Australia and I had all the intention to go and meet her but so happens I could not make it as she came to a city far from where I live and at that time I could not leave my home for more than 1 day! so I missed meeting her so I was so disappointed. You will find a lot of vegan recipes on the net and I'm sure you will love cooking them there are some very delicious dishes to cook! I hope you have a great time with your friend.

I'm sure you will do fine! just try pastel the choclo with beans! instead of meat just follow the same procedure as with meat/ but without it...I have made this a few times for my vegetarian family also try empanadas with a variety of vegetables they taste great as well! and if you have cool weather go for tasty vegetable soups and garlic toasts with tapenade or salsa topping! I'm sure you will be a winner!

I can make a sort of pastel de choclo, but it tastes better if you add some milk to the corn paste. I woder what that soy milk tastes like. Could I use that instead of our dear yummy cow´s milk?

I will check them. In March we still have lots of veggies and fruit. Maxine has told me she doesn´t like to cook much, but as I love to cook, I´ll see what I can do

hi marguicha last year I think it was our dumblondedizzy whose real name is Lori olsen came to my town to see her mom and she stopped by to see me. it was just wonderful as she was so down to earth and fri endly. we talked a mile a minute and the next day she and her boy friend were on their way to Georgia where he c ould more likely get a job. They spent several more hours with me and it was just great. she gave me a huge bouquet of flowers and thename of 78 mylotters who wanted her give me a hug. such fun. I still have the list.it was such a thrill for me too.I am glad you are having a mylot friend visit you
in March ,as it will be great fun for you too. On my account in Facebook you can see me with Lori. I am the one with white hair, hers was a strawberry blonde.I also was the o ne with the quad cane.Another one I wish could visit me is Pikey or Pike fish oh ther are a lot of others but I still cherish my visits with Lore so much.

Hi Hatley! That is such an amazing story and it seems like you had a good time meeting your friend. I haven't met anyone from a social networking site because I've heard of stories that end really bad but also because I haven't asked or been asked to be visited by anyone. I guess If I become closer to someone on here then maybe I will meet them or something. But I'm glad your visit was so fun.

I don´t see why a meeting with a friend online should end really bad. The most that can happen is that you don´t really have much to say to each other. But, on the other hand, noone expects to find soulmates online (or offline, for that matter). I am really looking forward to have a nice visit with her.

Today I had a friend over for lunch and we made an awesome apricot liqu*or. My mom gave me the recipe and I had to finish it with homemade sugar syrup and gum. We tasted it, of course, and pronounced it the best ever. I have a barbecue next Thursday and I´ll offer some after dessert. you could come and taste my apricot liqu*or

I haven't actually met anyone yet, but I thought I was going to. It turned out that the event they were going to was canceled so they didn't come my way, but it was close. Maybe one of these days I will actually meet someone.

You are invited to my house, as you know, Deb. We can exchange hats and experiences
. The problem is that we are so far away and doctors have a way of messing up our social life.

I just wish it didn't cost so much to get there. It is as expensive as going to Asia. I would really like to go some time if my health and finances allow it but I have no idea when that might happen. Have a great week!!!

I haven't met any MyLot friends yet, but I plan on meeting one of my friends. She is going to visit my country in the future and I look forward to meeting her. One day I also want to visit her in her country. The trip to her country will be quite expensive. I would like to visit more than one country while I am there. The plane ticket from my country to Asia where she lives is quite expensive, so I want to make good use of the time while I am there. Maybe I will visit 5 different countries so I need to save up quite a lot of money.
I have also received invitations from a couple of other Mylot friends and I hope to visit their countries one day. I would love to meet them. I have invited people as well, but I don't think that they have the money to travel at the moment.

The good thing about mylot is that we meet people from all around the world. The bad thing is that some of our friends live too far away from us
. That makes it very expensive. I have wanted to go to Canada for a long time to see an online friend. But the trip is out of the question as money goes and I will have to spend some money there too as my friend is poor and I will have to stay somewhere else.

Hi marguicha
Mylot has become my family ever since I joined and started participating. The best part here is that despite we being from different parts of the world, behave like a great family - and as within family minor disputes keep happening, so do here at times - the minor misunderstandings etc. But this is what makes this place special.
In the short time that I have been here, I have developed a kind of attachment with almost all the friends and lotters. I desperately want and think to meet a few of the great people from here who have helped me in becoming better person.
I got only one chance to meet one lotter by the name Professor and it was a short meet at the railway station when he was in my town and returning back home. The meeting never seemed formal and I never felt that it was one stranger or a person whom I met for the first time. I have very fond memories of those few minutes that we were together.
I have a portrait of all my family at MyLot here:
http://www.mylot.com/w/image/2542269.aspx
And you do appear on the second section - family. Hope you like it.

Hi sid,
I suppose you are talking about our common friend Bhuwan. I have never met him in person, but he is among my close friends here at my lot and is one of the very few I have given him my e-mail. I am going to see the pictures immediatly. We are a very special family!

I have never met a mylot friend but I guess I am open to the idea as long as I do become closer to that person like you said because you never know who is on the other end of the computer. Mylot has definitely widdened my circle of friends and I feel there are a few people who maybe in the future I would feel comfortable meeting. I hope you have fun with your meeting and it all goes good. Do let us know how everything goes.

MyLot has definitely widened my circle of real friends! I have, unfortunately, not got to meet any of them in person though. I would love to see some of them and hope that I can one day be able to. Whenever I plan a trip, I always wonder who is close that I might meet for lunch or dinner.

No, I never feel it in Mylot.
But I ever feel it on other site called mig33.Couple years ago, mig33 have become one of the most excited chat site in ASIA.
They provide chat room that could be make by our self.Usually, every city will make a room and the member of that group will meet once a week.
From that, we become a good friend one to each other.

It seems that it is different from mylot. But you can use mylot as a chat room if you wish in the sense that you can answer and comment your friend´s posts and after a while you feel you know them.

. You know that my avatar changes after each vacation. I will surelly take this as a holiday, specially since I was not in shape to have vacations this Summer. Maybe later, but the doctor has yet to decide on it.

That's really awesome; I hope you all have fun! I have never met a friend from myLot or any of my other websites in person... but I did meet one friend from online... and never saw her again after that, and met my ex-husband online, but well, you can see how that turned out. (He's my ex now.) So I haven't had great luck meeting people in person, but some people do. That's really cool that they're vegans. Maybe you could ask them what vegan foods they like so you can prepare them. :)

There are many mylotters from India. But India is such a big country that it is difficult to be in the same city as another. But my friend is coming to South America from New England. She loves to travel and she is now visiting Buenos Aires (Argentina), Santiago (Chile) and pretends to go somewhere in Brasil too.

I have every confidence, marguicha...your meals will be superb, but I, too, would find this whole new way of cooking a challenge! Added to that there are children whom are vegans, too! And my understanding there are varying degrees of vegans...and don't eat things like eggs, I would be challenged!
Is March coming into Fall in Chile? I will have to determine the parameters of the seasons...as I would like to leave the Cold, behind! Am going next week to get my passport..finally!
Sure hope the next round of chemo..doesn't zap you of all your strength!

I will certainly discover what to cook for Maxine, although she doesn´t know what she is missing by being vegan
. But, if she likes it, I can make some pasta with pesto. I would put reggianito cheese for me and have her eat them without it. And there´s also an awesome dish with beans and corn

March is Fall, perg. But I am going to save a little of the Summer bounty in my freezer. Besides, as our Faal is not very cold, there will be a lot of veggies to eat. I have a friend (my closest friend in fact) who is vegetarian. But that´s easy as I can do marvels with eggs and milk. Besides that, there´s the different taste buds depending on the country. My daughter told me that when she took her children to the US many years ago, they would not eat the hot dogs there because they did not have the same taste as ours.
It seems that what I will have next is not a chemo properly. It is a sort of follow up for 2 years with something called "anticlonal antibodies". The name is beautiful and, better still, it won´t make my hair fall out again. I think that if it does nothing to hair, then it is not so harsh with non cancerous cells. But I won´t talk of cancers: I´d rather talk about vacations. You have 6 to 8 months to save money so that you can visit me for your next Winter. It is awesome to escape from cold.

it's good that you'll be meeting a friend from mylot soon. that's so exciting. there are many vegan recipes and yes, thinking ahead of the diet is really thoughtful of you.
for me personlly, i don't have much of any close friends neither here nor around me. but when i just started out, there were a few who were really helpful and had really good topics that really made me wonder. i met many amazing people. but after a long hiatus, i was out of tough with everyone and i guess some deleted me since there was no response from me as i never saw their topics posted notice in my mail.
it's hard for me to make a friend, much less one even so close. but if i ever do, i would definitely love to have them over although like some, my husband too would be that receptive to the idea.
although my circle of real friends hasn't really widened, this is a place where i come to seek answers or ponder over things when i'm in the mood.
i hope you enjoy your time spent with your friend.

Hi Kalyani,friend,
I heard about that meeting just a few days ago, I think in this same post
.This friend loves to travel and she is traveling to some southamerican cities now. She will stay at my house for some days.
My health seems to be better, but I don´t want to say much until I don´t have my next tests done. This lymphoma is not the kind that disappears but right now it is on remission and it is the best I can have. I don´t mind much though: I try to have the best quality of life I can.
A HUG for both Bhuwar and you.
