The US Navy has named the latest Littoral Combat Ship in honor of the retired Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
May the ship named for her show the strength, endurance and resilience shown by its namesake!
This is a high honor for the Ship, Gabrielle Giffords, as well as the Commissioned Officers and Sailors who will serve aboard.

Thank you for this information, which I hadn't been aware of until just now, and double thank you for your kind words! It's wonderful to know that despite the division in this country during this political season in particular we can all still find common ground regarding Gabby Giffords! She is an inspiration to us all and a fantastic role-model for our daughters and granddaughters. I have no doubt our Sailors and Naval Officers will do her proud and live up to the name their ship has been given. I also have no doubt we'll be hearing A LOT more from Congresswoman Giffords in the not so distant future.

hi Parated I sure do agree with you. What an honor for the

in honor of the retireed Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
I ask also for God to bless this ship and all the crew.What
she has gone through shows deep courage and strength and
endurance. I read about her just recently and the gunman who killed so many and injured others.she has gone through a lot and showed
her courage and endurance.God B less her and the new ship.[em
