Two and a half years ago I bought this big HP Entertainment Pavilion laptop. I believe in HP and have used it for almost 30 years. It has never let me down! Until now! Now the DVD/DVD burner won't play most of the movies I put in it. My IT guy says it's because it can't get beyond the protection code for pirating! I assure you these movie are from the retail shelf. So I paid good money for what? a useless piece of junk? No, for just $155 I can upgrade my hardware through HP?! WHAT!? They hung up! Hilarious! What would you have done?

I think that it is quite scary just how much we all see to rely on technology these days. If I didn't have my laptop, I just don't know what I would do. My job involves being online from home every day, and if I was not able to do this then I simply wouldn't have enough money to pay the bills so I have to take care of my equipment. If I didn't have a mobile phone, I would never be able to keep in touch with anyone, so this means that there is no way that I could do without that, either. Yet somehow, years ago, everybody managed without any technology at all. It makes you wonder what kind of things they will have in the future that they can't manage without that we're not even thinking about at the moment.

Me too! I have an online business. So my hubby and I bought this summer place we spend 55 to 60 days out of the year at. Technology is almost frowned upon when we're up there. We remember the days before technology. Our grown kids are practically glued to it. If I catch them at texting, etc when their with us up there I take their picture! Later I show that picture to them. They came to visit us and what are they doing? What happens if life as we know it changes so drastically we have to learn how to make a torch just to keep the nocturnal wild life away! Well my husband and I have a jump start to that already! We've vacationed in the back woods for 10 days at a time. One tent, one camp fire, one canoe. My boys even have some of this experience from us!

That's so frustrating. We're having problems with our printer right now - it's also an HP. I have had lots of HP products though, and this one is the first one that has given us so much trouble so soon after we bought it.

Yes, I hate it. Oh so very much. Especially when it just seems like it does so at the time that I need it to follow through the most. It never really fails to fail at the worst possible time. And obviously, they would want more money to fix their own stupid problem. That is about right.
That is how it always happens. Make faulty technology for a lot of money, and then rather have them fix it for even more money. Its a situation that I would not have been happy. Then again, there are just a lot of bad costumer service the entire world over. That is one fact that I don't think anyone is going to dispute. No one has any pride in what they make anymore it seems.
