Sandra Fluke cannot afford contraception, but her and her rich boyfriend can afford a trip to Venice and Pompeii.
Do you see a problem with this?
I sure do.
The nine dollars a month to buy her pills so she can play around in Europe and not get pregnant could be used to buy blood pressure medicine for my son. Or for me for that matter.
What do you think?

Visiting Italy isn't that expensive. Oh wait, that is an excuse for why she couldn't dole out $9 for a pack of birth control pills. I really wouldn't be surprised to hear that her next news story is one about her being pregnant.

Yeah, she spent all her extra cash on the trip instead of pills.
My son saved for five years to visit Italy. And I guarantee you, he did not stay in the same hotels she did.

As much as it's a great example of someone arguing for something they don't need. It should still be made easily available, a lifetime supply of birth control is incomparably less exensive than an unwanted child.

I think people make awfully stupid choices for the world to see, and we are stuck with ht uproar.

There's another discussion about this--I didn't know how well off she was until I read that. More power to her, but that doesn't give her the right to mislead the public to think that she herself cannot afford birth control. She walked it back yesterday, saying she was speaking on behalf of women who could not afford it.
The last time I took a vacation--well, I can't remember. I don't think I've ever had a true vacation since I was a child. I'm glad she can afford it but she should not mislead people as she did. It's been a splendid diversion for Mr. Obama!
I wonder how someone whose education is being paid for with a scholarship can afford a European vacation?
