I suppose it is quite comfortable to live in rural areas.Coz the living pace is not fast and environment is good to living, people do not need to take the big pressure.I just prefer those kind of living style. What about you, dear mylotters? Happy mylotting.

Ya, in here, land and house in cities are very expensive, goods' prices are expensive too and people are not really friendly at all. I will be a farmer when i am retired, i like planting and gardening...

Although we still live in a suburb of a metropolitan city, it is a much smaller and quieter place than other places we have lived before. There is only one major freeway going north and south for the entire state and most shops close at 5pm here. I know some people, especially younger ones, who cannot wait to move out from here to experience living in a bigger city. For me, this is just like a dream come true. I've always wanted to live in a quiet place when I am old; and living here allows me to have that now while still giving opportunities to my teenage sons to pursue their education at nearby suburban areas.

I'm sure it's beautiful where you are too... I'd like to see it too someday. Perhaps my chance would be slimmer as I'm not as young as you are to travel...

I have lived in a rural area in the past and I think that there were both advantages and disadvantages about my life there. It was a very peaceful area and it was nice to be able to sit in the garden without the constant noise from the cars that I experienced when I lived in the city. There was also less pollution and that was another big advantage. The disadvantage about my life there was the location far away from the city. We spent quite a lot of money on gas, because we had to use the car whenever we wanted to visit the shops in the nearby town. Walking or biking was out the question, because the town was too far away.

I totally love the beautiful garden and quiet living pace. With much less pollution,i think it's really comforble for human living.Much natural.Though we have to spend much money on gas or other things, but compared to a good livign environment,it is completely ok,my friend. For you know that, there isn't anything cheaper living in the city everyday.

While I can see why that lifestyle can really appeal to certain people, it just really does not appeal all that much to me. Granted, the breakneck pace of the modern world, living right in the nexus of insanity, that can really just get to even the person who is the most used to it. For me personally, it is just something that has become part of life. It just seems weird, that the insanity is something that can overwhelm me but I wouldn't get it up for a rather simple lifestyle that a rural setting. Perhaps I am just a glutton for it all, for the punishment of insanity. Or perhaps, it is just something that I really have grown accustomed to more often than not. It is just the life that I live.

I can understand how you feel.Since we've already living under it,you wouldn't feel that so much longing to rural life.So definitely it is not that attractive to you.Anyway,to be honest,i'm completely lost and do not know which way i'm really gonna live.

I worked in the metropolis for about 2 years. I was always in a hurry. Hurried to go to the office and to go home. That's because i have to consider the traffic. But here in the province (rural area), i take my time choosing what jeepney to ride to take me to my place of work and in going home. In fact, if it's still daylight even if it's already 6pm, i would go to the mall and window shop, for things to buy when payday comes.

I think it is the biggest problem to consider the traffic jam.It is a headache to me that if i go home late, then i have to take many hours on the road,it's pathetic at night. So just hurry everyday makes my life really empty. And maybe many people can feel that.

And maybe it is just so tiring jricky , to be driving the car and be stalled in the traffic. At least when you are commuting on a public bus you can just sleep while the bus is stalled, though it might be risky that you might be robbed by your seatmate while you sleep.

Yes,i love living in rural areas too.As you say,in rural areas the living pace is not fast, which is fit to our health. And the environment,i must point out,is very good in the past, but it is rapid deterioration in China in recent years, the reason depends on industrialization, which called by some experts"the must cost of development".In china, the rural living style has changed a lot, near the city life style. But i still love rural, and don't expect it to change.

Yep,there is a big change in Chinese rural areas and even some are living much better than those in cities. So i definitely think that their fasting development is completely a shock.Plus, the natural environment is really helpful to live in anyway.

I don't like living in "rural towns" I live near one. My mom and step dad have a house and a boat in a tiny rural town in AK called Point Baker. I've been there once and I had to leave and I hope to never go back. When visiting yes it seemed peaceful and you truly forget about time. Then I thought today's world is not meant for us all to live in towns that seem peaceful that we forget about life and how hard it really is. Not to seem preachy but we all live in the "Last Days" so living in rural towns in my opinion is not a good idea. Right now there really is no such thing as peaceful living, and to live in a town that fools us like that is not a wise choice. So I live in a small town and am happy with that.

I'm also happy with small areas, this reminded me of a movie that called" slipped".The girl makes me feel really comfortable living her hometown,so i believe that we should really help protect the natural gift given from god.

I live in the countryside, and it is definitely something which I would recommend to anyone. I have to go to the shops once each week to get enough food for the whole week as we don't really like to be driving to the shops too often. We live in a quiet little street which is surrounded by lots of fields. It is love, especially in the summer when the weather is nice, as everybody enjoys to be outside. The neighbours are nice and friendly, and I just don't think that I would be able to cope with living in a city after being somewhere this quiet for so long.

I am a city girl all the way. I love the excitement and complexity of living in a big city. I also love how there is always something going on, and the convenience of being only a minute or two away from downtown - uptown - any kind of shopping mall, etc. I understand though, the peacefulness of living in the country. I like to vacation in the country sometimes, but I don't think I could live there. I think I am a little too fast-paced to live somewhere so cut off from... society. lol. But to each's own. Happy MyLotting!

I'm a big city guy. I have always liked the city because there is so much going on, but there are times where there is too much going on, and one would want something quieter, but I am nor sure if I can handle the rural lifestyle. I am so used to hustle and bustle that this would be a complete shock.

Rural living are sometimes enticing especially if I am already stressed. However there are some things that rural life cannot give me. I have nothing against rural life, but I'll be more comfortable with urban settings. Have a great day!

I know that sometimes villages can not meet our desire, but otherwise,it gives us much more that city can also not give.So i suppose that if we can go switch and it would really be amazing to enjoy our life.Good day.

I had lived in village for many years and now for job, studies and other life style change I have to move to city. When compared to villages, urban places are seemed to be comfortable with whatever we need is in reach. But the people in rural area and the place is so peaceful to live than in cities where we have to walk very careful in the streets and have to be careful by locking inside our home. I prefer to be in a village in some years later.

I feel beauty in nature is really precious. So it is ok for me if i get the chance to live in the city for a while and then go back there. As you said that i think it is good to stay in small village and much better for living.

I love to stay in rural place as well. Away from the busy city, populated community, and dirty air that I breathe daily. Just enjoying comfortable simple life in rural areas. But then, my work is in the city so I have no choice but to stay and live with the busy city. If given a chance I would prefer to live with a rural lifestyle like your preference.

I love living in the village, but I want to stay in town with my wife and our children. Our sons have to work in the city. In the city, much can I do. Occasionally my wife and I went to the villages to treat people. That's an opportunity for us to enjoy the village atmosphere.

I just so love the peace and quietness in the village and that's all the time i wanted, living in the city makes me feel tired and endless noise is really annoying. So i will change if i really get a chance to have the break.

Rural life is much preferrable but not always possible. In the present financial crisis, I believe we will soon see mass movement of people fron the cities to the rural areas. It will become a necessity to grow or collect our food. City life must change because our desires have changed from "what we want" to "what we need". And most of our needs are not actually in the city!

People do feel big pressrure in the city than in the rural areas. So i see many people who moved from city to those places.Anyway, maybe not that convenient as those in the cities, but quite comfortable and easy to live, people feel much desire than in the rural,i suppose. Thanks for share.

It depends, I am still young to explore and experience the fast pacing of life. If I am old for retirement, then I hooked myself to a non-complicated ideas.
