Would you like to update a room on a budget?

I wanted to make a few changes to my bedroom on a low budget. So I didn't have to go to the expense of changing my curtains I keep it the same sort of color. I went to a carpet shop where they had room sized pieces of carpet. I found a pink one for just eighty pounds and it was just a little bigger than my bedroom. I had to pay thirty pounds for fitting. I was so happy to find a new duvet cover for just ten pounds. This morning I went out shopping and found a lamp perfect for my bedroom. Amazingly I got it in a sale very cheaply. It looks smart in my updated bedroom. Do you have a room in your home that you are keen to update on a budget? Which cheap items would you like to purchase for it?

Last week I am bored and nothing to do then I look up in the wall looks quite dirty in the living I decided to change the color and painted it by myself instead of hiring someone to do it for me. Then I also change curtains in every room but instead of buying ready made curtain,I asked my sister to buy some materials and sew it which is much cheaper and has a good quality.

Our bathroom is what in most needs to be renovated. It's just look old and so aged... We want to get rid of the old bath tub and turn the entire bathroom into something more modern and fresh look... We've been looking into what would be the cheapest way to achieve that in terms of material and labor costs. We might start doing it toward the end of this year when school ends and we can 'employ' our teenage sons to help out...

We did a lot of work in the house last January to get the new roommate in. I now sleep in a tiny room, but I need to hang pictures and I haven't gotten that done.

I want to update our living room. The floor is really ugly. It is very old and the previous owner of our house didn't buy a new floor. She chose to buy some rugs and cover some of the ugly part of the floor that way. We don't have any rugs, and I really want to buy a new floor for the living room. We also need a new couch. We had to remove the old couch, because there were many holes in it. Right now we don't have a couch, and we use a bed as a temporary couch. It is okay as a temporary solution, but we want to buy a couch when we return from our trip to Asia. We can't buy it now, because we need our savings for the trip. We might buy a second hand couch when we return or maybe a couch on sale, we will see what we can find when we return.

To update my bedroom would be very cheap because all I need is paint. I have only one room to redo and that is the master bedroom. However, we are going with a chinese theme and can't come up with a color of paint for the walls. I had no problem coming up with the colors of the other two bedrooms. I can't paint them red and my better half does not want anything that is dark or depressing. That is the only thing I need is to repaint and my room will be complete and on a very cheap budget. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Have a great weekend!

I didn't update my bedroom since last year. All still is the same. However, i am thinking of changing a curtain. it is quite thin then when the sun rises, i can't sleep more in a bright room. I have to choose 2 layers curtain or thick one.

our living room couches don't match so we went out to a paint store and bought canvas painter drop clothes (they are really large and about $20 each and very durable. we have them on our couches as coverings. (they are beige and wash very well.)

My house is still far from complete, and the idea of being able to decorate is a distant dream. Well done on your own redecoration. It sounds lovely, and it must feel great.

To be honest I would prefer to move out. I moved many times in my life, mostly after a year. It's way easier to move and start all over again. In all these years I live in this house I hardly did anything. Since it's not my house and the owner refuses. Also I have a house in Hungary and need every cent to renovate that (it was only broken walls and a roof as I bought it, floors were made out of sand). But I did start to change something over here. The gigantic trees that makes me feel sick and keep all the sun out of my garden and house (and the house is so humid) are gone. I put a (partly) wall on my ceiling so there is less draft and it's possible to sleep over there during winter as well. I still have to clean up a lot over there (but feel tired). I hope in 4 weeks of time a lot of stuff standing everywhere is gone. A friend her son will take it to Hungary for me (it's partly for her and me and partly we will give it away to other people). I wouldn't easily change my bedroom. If so I would paint the walls but therefore I have to empty my waterbed, which is too much for me. I am already happy if all the stuff put down there is gone as well. More and more I prefer empty rooms. If I buy a cheap item it will come from the 2nd hand shop I think, there is one over here that has great stuff, closer to antique, the rest will be black or (dark) purple.
