Crochet Hook Considered a Weapon  

I think they should have locked her up for that one, don't you? haha!

the only way a crochet hook could REALLY be used as a weapon is if somone tried to steal mine , then the person trying to steal it to do harm or maybe another project would be the one in trouble >:) yea we crochet pplz like our hooks ;)

I agree. Though you probably had no intention of using it as a weapon, it would only take one person who's intent upon harming others to use it to jab into someone's eye.
Really sad that this is what our world has turned into!

well actually as i stated in my original post to this topic those thread hooks are pretty lethal lol, it reminds me of thos one post to one of my many crochet list where this lady was was working on a thread project ( while her hubby was driving ) and they were in a car accedent and the hook went right thru her hand !! so even tho i used to take my crochet with me wether im working with thread or yarn at the time i dont any more , but geesh thand god she wasnt knitting eh ?

I could be wrong, but I really don't think an H, I, J, K crochet hook would go through a persons' hand.
I do see how a smaller one, for thread (as was stated)could do that.
I never thought of a crochet hook as a potential weapon

It was in fact a "J" hook. But if you think about it, it could jab someone in the ey and do some damage.

I was able to keep my pen so I could make out my Christmas cards.

The guard and I had a good laugh when I came back for the bag. He said he wanted to help me out and work on the afghan, but was afraid it wouldn't have looked the same as my work.

At least the guard had a sense of humor about it. And you did handle it pretty good it sounds like.

Yes, I did get the cards done, but was late getting them out. I have been such a procrastinator this year.
