Woops - I mis-spelt a couple of these: it's actually "Alex Lloyd" (one of my favourite artists ever) and "The Waifs". It might be an idea to go to Amazon and hear a sampling of their music before downloading and to get some reviews, because I'm not sure what your tastes are.

If you do like Alex Lloyd - the songs I would recommend are: "Amazing" "Coming Home" "Beautiful" "Green" - you can find them on his "Best of" album.

Another way to sample the music is through www.pandora.com if you don't find samples on Amazon. Also, the site is great for putting in artists that you DO enjoy listening to and similar music by other bands will be found for you to listen to.

Actually I just realize that I have "Woman" by Wolfmother on my ipod as of this weekend. I'm still not sure if I like the song. I may have to listen to it a few times before I can decide for sure.

Any kind - just not something that is "popular" at present. I'm sicking of hearing the same things played on the radio over and over again. I often listen to the Spanish station just to break up the monotany.

I'm very eclectic in my music tastes.

I really like a lot of the bands they play on KGSR, a radio station out of Austin. Robert Earl Keen, Staid Cleaves, Patti Griffin. . . I hate the label "adult alternative" but I guess that's one way to describe it - or alt country?

I have heard the Pogues, too, and they make great music.

The Pogues are amazing - especially Rum,Sodomy and The Lash.

stumbled accross them the other week on cdbaby while looking for Joe Strummer stuff (he enjoyed watching them play aparently - this would have been arround the time he was working with/in The Pogues so makes sense)

I'm listening to the samples on amazon.com of their album bittersweet sixteen and they are good - that is an intense version of The Patriot Game

Oh, you are welcome. My favorite album is their self titled album from 1991. They have some great songs "Rockin the Bronx," "Funky Céilí (Bridie's Song)." and "Livin in America".

Sort of a non sequitor, but my husband wanted to play "Beat on the Brat" by the Ramones at our wedding. Cool idea, but ultimately vetoed.

Oh man - you should hear some of the stuff my fiance wants to play... Skinny Puppy... Tu pac... just to name a few. I have vetoed those. I compromised by saying he is allowed to sing "Melt With You" - can't think of who it's by now... maybe Modern English?

I actually do like that song - I'm a girl by the way. They play it on VH1 all the time. And you are right - because my boyfriend won't listen to it.
