when you mention zombie movies,of course you have to mention the george romero classic "dead" movies. he had to be one of the first,if not THE first to use squibs(blood packs)to great effect.i remember my mouth dropping at the movie house watching that. then there were later movies like the fog(pirate/ghost zombies) night of the comet, both kind of slow in places.. then they started getting violent again with re-animator,resident evil and 28 days later. 28 days was technically virus zombies, but i've got to admit fast zombies were more scary than the traditional slow ones. what was your favorite, past or present?

The original Re-Animator is awesome. It has a scene that is so over the top that it would spoil iut to tell you about it...you have to rent it.

Hm hmmm.. I think 28 days later was the absolute best, I almost said Resident Evil's, but 28 Days Later was one of the only TWO horror movies which have ever disturbed me and my mother lol. We were squirming in our seats for it. I don't know what it was about it really..maybe it was how quiet it was or the most part of the movie. The excellent conveyance of how EMPTY it all was because there weren't any people..just random zombies hanging around. The Resident Evil's..theyr're just insanely awesome, and for zombies they're very out of the ordinary. I especially appreciate how much angst they incorporate into the storylines..like how whats-her-name (lol..gah..me and late nights..never helps me reply to things on mylot lol).um..Mia Jevonovich? I probably spelled her name wrong. Anywau, how she can never cut a break. The guy she begin to like, Matt turning into a monster which still somewhat has an awareness of who he is..erm..the zombie school children..it was just sooo very awesome lol.

I had always liked games of zombies like Resident Evil and Carmageddon, but I dont like movies about them. I had recently watched a movie called The Wrong Turn about ZOmbies. It was really a cool movie. I dont think if its a great movie but it a nice one.

that wasn't Zombies was it? the Wrong Turn film I saw was sort of chainsaw massacre-esque, with an inbred cannibal family in the woods.

28 days later DEFINITELY and the Resident Evil series...though I gotta say the third one's the best out of that one. I like fast, deadly zombies best. I know they're virus zombies..but of all zombies, they make the most sense lol. And the more realistic the horror is, the better.

I haven't seen many zombie movies, just the two Resident Evils and "The Omega Man" with Charleton Heston. I liked them. A lot. I've been more into zombie books, as my wife doesn't really like zombie movies at all, and money's been to tight to rent them anyway. I checked out World War Z, by Max Brooks, and devoured it. It's going to be made into a movie shortly, and I look forward to that immensely.

Max Brooks other book "The Zombie Survival Guide", is brilliant as well. It's written like an actual handbook and in a very serious tone which makes it all the more hilarious. I read it in a day.
