Sandy beaches of White Rock, British Columbia

There are four beaches to choose at White Rock: West beach, East beach, Crescent beach, and Crescent Rock Naturist beach. West beach has a brick-laid promenade area marked by a panoramic pier and breakwater near the shore.

Mountains near North Vancouver

This is the view you are going to get when you roam Vancouver's waterfront, which has one of the most picturesque natural harbor views in the world. Vancouver is part of an island which is called the Canadian province of British Columbia's Lower Mainland. As you can see, you have to take a ferry or a boat to get to North Vancouver, although you can also cross historic Lions Gate Bridge on foot or by car, and make a right after the bridge. If you make a left, you are surely heading to West Vancouver.

The site of the first McDonald's

The site of the first McDonald's to be franchised by Ray Kroc is now a museum in Des Plaines, Illinois. The building is a replica of the original, which was the ninth McDonald's restaurant.... Most standalone McDonald's restaurants offer both counter service and drive-through service, with indoor and sometimes outdoor seating. Drive-Thru, Auto-Mac, Pay and Drive, or McDrive as it is known in many countries, often has separate stations for placing, paying for, and picking up orders, though the latter two steps are frequently combined; it was first introduced in Arizona in 1975, following the lead of other fast-food chains. In some countries "McDrive" locations near highways offer no counter service or seating. In contrast, locations in high-density city neighborhoods often omit drive-through service. There are also a few locations, located mostly in downtown districts, that offer Walk-Thru service in place of Drive-Thru. Specially themed restaurants also exist, such as the "Solid Gold McDonald's," a 1950s rock-and-roll themed restaurant. In Victoria, British Columbia, there is also a McDonald's with a 24 carat (100%) gold chandelier and similar light fixtures....

vancouver at dusk.

Vancouver is a coastal city and major seaport located in the Lower Mainland of southwestern British Columbia, Canada. It is bounded by the Strait of Georgia, the Fraser River, and the Coast Mountains. Vancouver is named after Captain George Vancouver, a British explorer. The population of the city of Vancouver is 611,869 and the population of Metro Vancouver is 2,249,725 (2007 estimate). This makes it the largest metropolitan area in Western Canada and the third largest in the country.Vancouver is ethnically diverse, with 52% of city residents and 43% of Metro residents having a first language other than English. Population density is fourth highest for a major city on the continent after New York City, San Francisco, and Mexico City. Vancouver was first settled in the 1860s as a result of immigration caused by the Fraser Canyon Gold Rush, particularly from the United States, although many immigrants did not remain after the rush. The city developed rapidly from a small lumber mill town into a metropolitan center following the arrival of the transcontinental railway in 1887. The Port of Vancouver became internationally significant after the completion of the Panama Canal, which reduced freight rates in the 1920s and made it viable to ship export-bound prairie grain west through Vancouver. It has since become the busiest seaport in Canada, and exports more cargo than any other port in North America.
