Jeans are comfy

I've worn jeans more than dresses in my life. I guess the only time I wore dresses was when I go to work and wear my uniforms.

Hungry children

In that part of the world, welfare doesn't exist, so kids end up malnourished and not having proper education. Public schools are free or used to, now I think they have to pay a minimal fee. There are about 60++ in one classroom and kids have to buy their uniforms, school supplies not to mention the everyday transportation fare and lunch. No, they don't get freebies from the government!And yeah, children end up peddling out on the streets to support their parents!

Items left at the Vietnam Veterans War Memorial

People leave many different things at the Vietnam Memorial. Uniforms, medals, wreaths, poems and letters, candles, flags, even cans of beer. My husband left a flak jacket that had been signed by General Westmoreland and had a pack of Ruby Red cigarettes in the pocket. He left it for his brother, who died in Vietnam. Over the years since the dedication of The Wall in 1982, thousand of things have been left--so many that they are talking about a museum just for that. That would be a great tribute.
