I just heard on our local news last night that Bush is leaving office as the least popular president in US history. If you will google for yourself you will see that many sites same dated years ago up to the president are saying the exact same thing. here is the most recent one: stating that he is the least popular president in modern history http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/05/01/poll-bush-most-unpopular-in-modern-history/ Now when you think of all the american presidents, that is some reputation, I remember the watergate scandal and how Nixon was so unpopular, but Bush is superseding him. Do you believe that Bush is the least popular president in american history, if not who is in your view and why.

all one has to do is remember how even the economy was before he took office and look at it now then draw your own conclusion!

I remember how things were under Jimmy Carter like it was yesterday and from where I sat it's been much worse under Bush! Just my opinion but it's a strong opinion. Annie

I think he is the least popular president also in my book. I have not been alive that long to know much about many of them but I know enough about Bush. He has made things such a mess in my lifetime.

I don't remember alot of president's but from what I know I would say that is about right that he is the least popular so far. I think it is because both Bush presidents had a war The gulf war now this one. Maybe that is he is so unpopular.

Right now he may be the least popular president but as time goes along people will see what he had to. I respect him very highly. And what people keep forgetting is that with each president it is really not them that has the final say so on anything. It is congress that makes the decisions. If he comes back and says he vetos something congress can over ride him and still make the desicion that they want or think is the best. Also any president is not going to be liked by all. Look at all the people that are here in the U.S. Yes, he made mistakes but so did the other presidents. No one is perfect.

of course not all presidents are going to be liked but he is the least liked of all the presidents that were not liked, that is what the polls say. Perhaps you disliked someone more than him if so who was he and why?

For sympathy and popularity, nothing would have beat being hit by those shoes thrown at him in Iraq. President Bush should not have ducked. At any rate, his place is assured in US and world history.

President Bush has done some good things, but sad to say he will go down in history as the least popular, hated president. A lot of things went down hill in our country and he didn't give a good impression like he cared. I understand why we need troops over seas, but at the same time. I don't uderstand why we are paying private companies to do things that our troops are trained to do. It's hard to weigh the pros and cons of President Bush's term, sad to say even if he had more pros, it wouldn't change the world's view on him.

I guess he really is after experiencing a lot of setbacks like the terror attack and his last term was shock by these economic slump which made his administration lag further. Those factor alone would really put his position to a very grave position to become the least popular presidents in modern history.

I do not know who is. I do know that Bush was not liked because of the Iraqi war, but then had Saddam Hussain not been ousted, Bush would not have been liked then, so I think he had everything stacked against him. And it depends on your view, if you are for the Democrats (Americans) or Liberals (Canadians) then you would hate Bush. It just is common sense. I remember the Vietnam war, and Johnson, a Democrat put more troops into it, and it was an unpopular war, but then had Johnson turned and become Republican he would have lost popularity as well. I think Bush was doomed before he started. Trouble is that Obama may ruined the economy more than Bush and the Congress, America may go further down into a recession, taxes may be raised sky high but he will still be popular. People seem to like flamboyance.

yes but this was a national poll with republicans, democrats, independants everyone voting so that does not change that at less then 33 per cent of the popular vote bush leaves office as the least popular president in modern american history. And Canadians didn't vote this was the american people who voted.

Blast it. I did here that the Obama inauguration is going to cost way more than what the former presidents had. So I guess popularity does not mean that much. I am waiting for the complaints coming in when the taxes are raised, and our dollar goes down. ()doesn't that happen when there is a recession in America? We get down so that everything from the States costs more. I guess the only thing would be that more American firms have stores here. I wonder what it would be like to shop at Macy's here in Winnipeg.)

I sure believe Bush is the least popular President in history and I KNOW he is with me and all my friends and family! The funny thing about Nixon was that until Watergate broke he really wasn't that bad...lol! I guess I'm saying for a crook he was a decent President. Annie

I don't think that I could say that Bush was the worst President ever. I remember people complaining about Jimmy Carter and saying how bad he was as President. Well, now it is Bush. I am sure that it is all based on the war and I feel that we should have gone to war. I believe that Nixon was not a good one and personally, I would say Bill Clinton was the worst. I never seen that he done a lot of good and he was morally wrong as a President. Hillary is not a person that I respect either. She allows her husband to embarrass her publicly and yet she stands by him and acts as though nothing is wrong. Why do women think that men should be allowed to get by with cheating?

this is a picture of me jumping on the bandwagon of all those who voted "Bush" as a real "bush league" US president! I have live thru many, and this "war monger" kept half the world NOT sleeping, wondering when we woke up...which war had he got the world into now!

Bush maybe unpopular at this moment in time. But don't forget that Congress popularity ratings are even lower. After all, they are the ones who vote on all the bills. I think if we give it a little space and time, than Bush might not been seen as so unpopular. I still think Nixon will win this one eventually.

well he is going out of office as the most unpopular president the nixon count was long done at the time that he left office the only way bush will recover from being the least popular president in the eyes of americans now, will be for someone who comes after him to be considered worse.

I agree that bush is the least popular president in american history, especially for those who are not american citizen. His popularity dropped because of the war he made.
