I have a lot kinds of books. Start with fiction until science. But I have a lot of music books. My music books still dominate my books. I usually use that for playing guitar. But i never read all until finished. Actually i like to read science but my hobby is music, so i prefer to read music book. Reading is a good hobby.

Yes, I agree, reading is a good hobbie. Reminds me, my husband and I are supposed to start playing instruments, practicing in March. He wants to teach himself banjo and I want to relearn dulcimer. I also want to get back into singing and I wish he would, too. What kind of music books are you two into?

I read and collect fantasy books. Some romance, a lot of biographies. Cookbooks out of my ears. Writing how-tos, Comedic humor, and Pagan/Wiccan/Occult books. I think those are the biggest categories.

Hi,there writeresdge, For me in my childhood I have more books in chinese about all kinds of things such as culture ,science ,health ,food etc, unfortunately I do not like to read so many books in my childhood ,what I like to do is to buy so many books ,as I think it is a kind of self satisfaction .haha ~~The day when I entered my high school ,there are so many books as the supplement of my school subject ,some exercises on math,English ,chinese ,history ,geography ,etc...since in that time we have a big event in our life that is "college entrance examination" Now I was in the period of university life ,my major is English ,so I have more books on English literature as well as the American literature which are all my favorite (maybe I do not like that much but I have to say so since I am a english major),Today i just bought a book on American History, for I like American literature nuch nore than Englsih literature .Apart from these there are also some books about linguistic (this is the most difficult for me )hehe ~~~ I have also got some basic books on Japanese as it is also one of the most important course for me .. Those are good topics, I had those when I first got out of college, they've given way to the others and DVDs/videos with exercise classes in them. But more and more of my cookbooks include nutrition as time goes on. Cookbooks and nutrition go well together. So they are what you collect and are continuing to collect and you just bought two today. They need more nutritionists in some areas, maybe you'll become one. Thanks and take care.

my books are Christian fiction, mystery (James Patterson), Classic Literature, poetry, and critical analysis. My boyfriend doesn't read that much, his collection consists of comic books.

I don't think I've ever read Christian Fiction. That must be interesting. Mysteries can be cool. I read a lot of mysteries when I was younger, but I started out with comic books, so you never know, they may lead somewhere. Thanks and take care.

I never could get into horror, but all the rest sound like neat books that I wouldn't mind reading, too. What paranormal books do you read/recommend? I find they're hard to find here unless you know titles/authors that you're looking for. Thanks and take care.

My books are predominantly personal development books, Self-help books, how-to books, art books that teach drawing, and health and fitness books. I love learning how to do new things so most of my books reflect this interest...or should I say passion.

Thank you for joining Mylot, welcome aboard. I used to have a collection of books like you have now. After I helped myself, I only kept a few. After I learned how to do some things, I sold some of them and after I found out I'm better with either videos or DVDs that show me because I can't watch the books and my hands, too, I sold those. Health and fitness, I also replaced with videos, DVDs and the fitness channel. But the first 5 years after college, I had a similar collection to yours. Thanks and take care.

I can't say that books about World War II make up the largest part of my library but there are certainly more books about World War II than any other subject.

I have a colletion of books in my home, but I don't keep all of the books that I buy. I sell some of them or give them away to friends or to charity. I only keep the books that mean the most to me, and they ones which I might want to read again. My collection of books consists of books about traveling, new age books, books about nursing, books about psychology and psychiatry, poetry and a few novels. When I was younger most of my books were fiction, and in the past I have been a member of different book clubs. I haven't kept those books, though. Many of them I gave away to second hand shops, and the shops have sold them and given the money to charity. I only want to keep the books which really mean something to me and the books that I really like, and I give the rest of the books away so that other people can benefit from them.

I and my whole family love books. We all collect a lot of books on every subject possible.I also subscribe for some magazines and i love to hoard them.So they are found all over the place, the older they are the more precious they are to me. We have bestsellers, knowledge books, cook books, books on interior design ,non fiction and many thesaurus and dictionaries. I love going through World Atlas and we have 15 different Atlas most of which are in tatters due to use..

Thank you, glad you like this discussion. I find it interesting, too. Often I get bored with responses from topics that a lot of people like, but this one is interesting even after a lot of people answer. I read lots of detective stories when I was younger. I've sold many of my books from college now that decades have gone by. Detective stories were some of my first books and religious magazines were some of my first magazines. You're taking me down memory lane. Thanks and take care.

Most books are in the fantasy/sci-fi category. I've been reading those kinds of books since Middle School. Beyond that? I have classics(Victor Hugo, Anna Karenia, etc) funny books(Dennis Miller, George Carlin) and a couple of "real life" books(Nickled and Dimed). Honestly, I don't have many books compared to others because I tend to trade/sell fairly quickly at times.

I used to read only non-fiction until my husband was laughing and going on and on about a historical romance book he was reading. I read it, interesting. Then I found paranormal romance and that was great! I still read medical, self-help books and lots of books on wild edible plants. I also used to have lots of how-to books until about the 5th one, I figured out that I'm all thumbs. What paranormal titles or authors does your man read? I'm trying to find more good ones out there. Thanks and take care.

Ha...ha...you knew I would chime in here, RESOURCE books....name it & it's there, with a heavy leaning towards PLANTS of all forms...HEALTH...NATURAL Health, Cooking and loads of crafts! A whole selection of heavy reading for when I can poke my nose in a book for longer than 15 mins....and light non-fiction for the Ferry rides! Cheers!

That's what I loved about when I was out your way in 96. Eagles, they were almost extinct here. Only about one nesting pair left. They've been reintroducing them, but it is still rare to see one here. But in Alaska, esp, they were everywhere. We have beavers down the road at a river from us. We see deer quite often, two nights ago running across the road as a matter of fact. Living in the country is great for that. But seldom do we see Eagles. Pesticides all but wiped them out here. I wonder what it was like up here before the pesticides. Yes, I would have loved it. So you've been on a job site, you have a job, terrific for you! Thanks and take care.

The most common book that people may find that I own are murder mystery/detective books, because those are the types of books that I enjoy reading the most. I read a few novels of other genres, but they aren't as noticeable as the murder mystery novels. Another type of book that I enjoy keeping are those of paranormal books.

Some of the paranormal books are quite addictive. Who are your paranormal authors? I like Patricia Rice. I read all her magic series. There is another author, Christeen Shehan or something like that. I can't find the book right now (disorganized, unfortunately) about people who turn into Jaquars and running from the mob or mofia or something like that. I haven't read it in a long time, but I'm itching to read it again. That is my favorite so far. But the Patricia Rice magic series is really fun. So what paranormal romance books are you reading now? I haven't been able to find much paranormal romance that isn't vampires. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a vampire one once in awhile, but it's getting so they're all going that way. I like variety, like in the magic series, each sister has a different power, now that's cool. Sorry to go on and on, but I really love this kind of thing. Take care.
