Have you ever gone to this site:http://www.popularfront.com/snowdays/? It is a site I visit a lot in the winter, although it is there year around. It is a lot of fun to make a snowflake, put a message with it, e mail it to your friends and watch the others that come by as well. I made two this morning. Do you have any other fun sites that you visit seasonally?

I had never visited that site. After reading your discussion I tried it. I loved it!! I sent a snowflake and a message to everyone I know. I am anxious to see if they got them. I'm still learning and I am always afraid I did something wrong. I never knew there were sites like that on here. I put it in my favorite list so I can keep going back to it.

I haven't gone to this site. I hear of some and check them out. No seasonal ones that I can think of at this time. I enjoy snowflakes so much and think they are beautiful! I go to the comment sites and find seasonal comments on them! Some are native american and even a wiccan one or two. I enjoy sending them to people I know on line. I forgot I could send them to folks on here so what out!

I remember making them when I was young. My mom used to make some beautiful ones. I think she had more patience than I did.

I bet you learned the "right way" like this site has you do it. I loved that skill and I have enjoyed doing the snowflakes for over forty years. Really close to fifty years in fact.

How Fun!! I LOVE SNOW and Winter!! This site was FUN!! My daughter,13,even wandered over and said Ill show you how to do it mom , and had fun making a couple!! Snow makes me happy. I love going out in the big soft falling ones and looking up as they fall,so beautiful and unique in the light. You can see on a mitten that each one is different. I use to have many sites when my 4 kids were younger. As the youngest is 13 they do not do much of this anymore:o( I do have one someone sent of cookies and Christmas traditions.I will come back if I can find it!! Thanks again, much fun and I am sure I will be coming back when i get some email addresses written down to mail snowflakes too!!

Being an Aussie that never sees snowflakes, I was interested in this. Im looking at the site and I created a snowflake. I created a message and sent it to a friend. I should do one and send it to myself and see how it turns out. Okay, I just created another one and sent it to my other address so I can see how it turns oit. Thanks very much for this.

Yes, there is one. I have it bookmarked, although I haven't visited it yet this season. I thought about it last night. It's a guy in a Santa suit with a fake reindeer and a recliner. You type commands in the box and the Santa guy does or says whatever a person types. Apparently, they prerecored everything they can think of that someone might type. I've only ever thought of one thing the Santa guy can't do. It's pretty fun.

I recall this site, GardenGerty, but it didn't hold my interest very long. Think I made a few snowflakes and then just forgot about it.

Snowflake - from snowdays site
Yes I have been there before but I like it, so thanks for the reminder. Every year OfficeMax sends me their Elf Yourself link so I usually check it out. Some family members get quite creative there, putting cat's faces on the elves. I will try to upload my snowflake here.

Oh wow, that's another pretty cool site. I love that the snowflake patterns form when you hover above it. I guess we really could print stuff with those snowflakes and even make greeting cards out of it. I have not heard of this site before. It could be a fun way of customizing our postcards. It would be nice to receive and send these. Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays!^_^

It's fun making the snowflake, but I don't want to put my address or any of my friends on a site like that, I already get way to much spam..

I understand your concern. I do not think I have generated any spam that I can trace there, and I have done this for a couple of years.

What a fun website! I had more fun making a snowflake, I almost forgot to come back here...lol. I enjoy baking a lot, so one of my favorite sites is for that. Just about every recipe you could think of is there, plus a pile of other fun stuff to do. It's www.northpole.com for anyone interested in checking it out. I'm looking forward to seeing other responses here, to find out about other cool sites. Great (and timely) discussion!

Hi GardenGerty. Yes, I have gone to this site before. It's a lot of fun. The kids especially like it and enjoyed it very much. Maybe a little too much as they'd spend a lot of time building and watching the snowflakes! LOL Happy mylotting!

Thank you, sooooo much...Garden Gerty! What a delightful site, but I must admit I do need more practive after seeing the lovely snowflakes other's have made. AND, I like the fact that I saw them falling on my computer screen, rather than out my window....and knowing they have to be removed! LOL! I think that is what I will be looking at tho'...as snow is predicted for Friday. Thanks & Cheers!

You make snowflakes? It doesn't snow much where it rains. I think making a snow flake would take a steady hand, and ignoring those around you to complete your task. I also don't think it would be very beautiful if others were around because they would bug your complacency. I think that if you are to make a snowflake, be alone. Without your girlfriend. Without your bestfriend. Without your other girlfried/bestfriend, and the other girl that comes to your house. Because if you are alone, then you will be able to concentrate. And you will see that you are unique. What kind of message do you put on it, poetry? How many friends do you email it to? 100!
