We picked up the gerbils today and are loving having them here.
I can't get good pictures of them, they just wont stay still long enough to do so.
We set up 2 cages for them, attached by a small tunnel piece, a wheel in each cage so they don't fight over one.
One of them has already run so fast that it flipped itself over while running.
They're both black, and we can't tell them apart which makes it hard to give them names.
But they are cute, and I'm glad they're home.

We used to have several hamsters and now have only one. Gerbils are different which is why we got them.

It sounds nice! I think that would be funny to watch them running until they flipped themselves over! Too bad you can't put video footage on here! Maybe you can put it on youtube or something and put a link to it. Do you know if they are boys or girls or both? That might be important later on. I'm glad you like them! Have a great weekend!!!

I have never had anything to do with gerbils, very little with hamsters. I do not mind them, but my cats would have tasty snacks. I bet you are very entertained by the little guys.

Love your discussion. it made me laugh!
Back in the 70's when I first got married we had a puppy. We went to the pet store and they had gerbils for 1.00. I got one.
it ran under the TV. the bottom of the Tv had a scroll work so the gerbil could look out under one side of it.
My puppy and gerbil played back and forth for about an hour.
I guess the gerbil got tired of the game, and finally bit her nose.
When my hubby saw the puppy's nose bleeding, he took the gerbil and threw it over the balcony.
Never did find it so guess he got away.
Thanks for bringing that memory back.
