myLot e-mails to go through, that is...
Bad Dawn.
Well I was on vacation last week. Took the kids to Legoland and the San Diego Wild Animal Park.
We met up with my mom's friend Jeannine, and she went too.
Cary loved Legoland, Dearra thought it was lame, and Naomi was OK with it.
The girls loved the Wild Animal Park, and Cary wasn't so excited about that.
Dearra complained a lot, she and Cary bickered, and Jeannine got in her face about all the complaining (she also called my sister and asked her how she could stand it).
I didn't like how they had changed the tram ride at the Wild Animal Park. It was about half as long, and I missed seeing the Okapi, but the rest of it was pretty cool. There was a lorikeet pavilion, a butterfly pavilion, the free flight bird show, etc. And we ran into an "animal encounter" with a serval. Way cool. Legoland was OK too.
And now I'm going to be playing catchup, so bear with me...
Didja miss me?

My grandson loves Legos! I wonder if he would enjoy Legoland. Is that in San Diego too? I did miss you. Wondered if you might be under the weather. Glad you weren't and having a good time. Kids tend to bicker if they are together for a long period of time. Sounds like mom had a good time though.

Sounds like you had a pretty good vacation, regardless of the fact that there were things that some of the kids liked while others didn't and the fact that the kids bickered with one another. With that said, I'm sad to admit that I really didn't miss you while you were gone. The reason for that is that I found out last week that my husband has cancer and I've been trying to deal with that. Of course, that has meant that I haven't spent the time here that I usually do, so I couldn't tell you who did or didn't take part in discussions.

Hodgkin's lymphoma. As of right now we don't know what stage it it because it was diagnosed last week from a lymph node biopsy. He has five more tests to have run to finish staging the cancer and treatment will start right after that.
I'm a bit better now though because the doctor assured us that this is one of the most treatable kinds of cancer. It is scary though.

Of course you were missed! What's 607? I heard Legoland is for kids up to something like 8 years old - so I can see how Dearra wouldn't really enjoy it. Wow, the Wild Animal Park tram was half as long? I know my daughter would be able to sit through it now, but I don't know about the little one. I'm surprised Cary wasn't so thrilled - I thought he liked critters. But hey, sounded like a cool vacation week!

607 backlogged e-mails from myLot...
Cary is 10 and he liked it, but then he is into Legos.
The Wild Animal Park tram used to go by the tigers and the Okapi and a little bit outside the park below the bird show. Now it just loops the Africa and Asia enclosures with all of the hoofed animals. The rock face that used to have all the goats is still there, but the tram doesn't go by it any more. I'd say it used to be a 40 minute ride, and now it's more like 20. Cary liked it, just not as much as Legoland.

I didn't count the e-mails, AOL counted them for me. Dearra likes faster rides, and Legolands were a little too young for her. Last I saw, LA Zoo didn't have Okapi...

I'm so backlogged - I don't even count the emails! I heard kids really like Legoland - but Dearra is older (she's too hip for Legos now - hee hee). Wow - only a 20 minute ride? Well, I suppose zoos are hurting too - so I supposed they have to cut it somewhere. Okapi's are cool (well, all animals are) - I don't think we caught any at the LA Zoo this time (a lot of animals were retiring for the night - we went their near closing).

Hi Dawn. Went through your pictures at Legoland. We are seriously considering going there this fall. The kids wanted to go to Disney again, but when I showed them the Legoland website, I think they've changed their minds. I've got two boys, and lego pieces are everywhere in the house, so I think I wouldn't have any problems with them liking the park.
I'm only at 61 myLot emails to go to, so I'm just one-tenth bad Bounce.

How old are the boys? If they're too much over 10, they make think Legoland is too juvenile...

Welcome back from you trip. Sound like you had a typical trip with kids. There's always going to be someone who would rather be doing something else. Hope you had a nice time anyway. Best Wishes!

Of course we missed you. What is a family vacation without a little drama and complaining. I am glad your kids lived up to their jobs in that area. Have fun with the catsup, Ketchup, catch up.

Oh wow! That is a heck of a lot of emails to go through. But on the bright side you had a nice vacation and rest, right? I wonder - did you ever get through all of your 607 e-mails?
I would be freaking out at that amount!
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

Hey dawny! Were you away a whole week? Time sure does fly...Anyway,
the vacation sounds pretty awesome to me, well maybe not Legoland
so much. But, I would love to go San Diego Wild Animal Park for sure!
And their Zoo too! I think the butterfly pavillion would have been
my favorite! What about some "Big Wildcats"? Sounds like a fun trip,
except for the kids fighting part. But, I guess you did have to take
them, didn't ya?
