When opportunity knocks it really knocks, I got TWO interviews this week! I got a call from two different jobs today about an interview, and I REALLY REALLY hope that I can get one of these jobs. I need to get out of the situation I am currently in desperately. I do have an obstacle which is transportation but I'm praying about that, hoping I can find a way around that. In any case, have you ever gotten several calls for work in one day?

First of all, let me tell you that you are very lucky to have two options. Many of us have none and we will be unemployed for a period of time. You will have to get yourself together and show the employers that you desperately want that job and you will do anything for being the right person to be employed. Wish you all the best and let us know how the interviews went.

I have been waiting for quite some time, February of last year to be exact. I am still worried about how I will get to the jobs, but I need to not worry so much about that and just pray I get the job. If I have to I'll bounce my checking account just to get a bike, I need this job so bad.

The bus station doesn't go to the county I am wanting to go to. the other station does, but it seems as if it's harder to get those busses. The job that I really want is only a two hour walk, compared to the six hour walk I'd be doing to work for walmart which I just interviewed with today.

Isn't it easier to make a monthly subscription to a bus agency or something like that? Maybe it would be easier and faster than a bike. I am just asking.

Congratulations!! It's good to hear that people are getting good news in the employment department especially since we are not out of the recession yet. I'm having a bit of trouble finding a job right now but I'm going to keep my head high and continue looking. But I wouldn't hold my breath, it'll be great if I find one but I wouldn't die if I don't I hope you get the job.

I've been looking since February of last year and just now got something, so I am really really really hopeful. I hope I get it at the second job that called me, as it's closer to me. I hope you find something soon too.

hi somecowgirl no I have never been that fortunate but I am really glad for you as in this economy at least here in the USA the jobless situation is still critical and lots of people are still out of work.California is one of the hard hit states. So anyone who gets a job or is offered two is doing really well. When I was still working I had no trouble getting a job but the economy was still very good. I worked for years n a hospital and then the last 23 years I worked in a local library. women often find it easier to get jobs than the men do.

My biggest hurdle will be transportation to the job. I will need to buy a bike but I don't have money to do that with. I am a bit stressed about that. I am so thankful to God that I have two job opprotunities before me though, and he brought them to me, He'll help me find a way to and from work I am sure of it. I didn't know that women are more likely to get a job then men, it's a curious thing as I had actually thought it was the complete opposite. Now I do know that women tend to earn more then the men do. I have applied to be a library page in the past, but it's very cheap work and more of a voluntary thing. Not that I wouldn't take it by any means, especially right now.

Gosh I remember one time I was so determined to get back to work that I had so many calls in a few days span. So I set up interviews for five place, to sort of use up the time in that day in a square and save time. If you get the job, you may struggle a bit due to lack of transportation, but remember to take it slow as to not rush into a debt for a car. Prayers will hold strong and I do hope you get a good one out of these. Oh don't be surprised someday when you finally get one job then the others start calling too. lol, usually happens to a lot of people.

I went to the interview for the first place today. I think I may overdraw my account just so that I can get a bike, it's not the smartest thing to do in no way but it might be only way to do it. My family doeesn't like the idea of me biking to work and yet they know about it. Still I won't ask them because they'll just try their hardest not to help me out even though I'd pay them back. I'm determined, even if I have to walk.

I like to get the interview calls but sometimes it can be a matter of tension when you don;t have the time to go for the interview due to the schedule of your current job. I have missed so many interviews just because of my current job. I do not want to take a risk for the new job just to lose my this one. I think my current job is okay so I took that decision. In your case try to get prepared for the interview and then go fearlessly. Give the good answers and get selected.

I want to get selected, it would just be getting to and from the job that would be my biggest thing to get over. I have faith that I will be able to get the job though.

Just had one interview today, and not sure what to say. It was an okay interview but I feel they'll either hire me out of pity or not at all... they acted as if they had three other people but the way they were talking, it seemed as if I was their only option.

Thank you I appreciate that a lot. I had just finished "refreshing" my application for the one place and they called the same day. It makes me feel like they are desperate to hire someone and well I am desperate to get hired. I want to have both jobs but not sure I'd get to either one of them. The economy is so tough right now I'll be thankful to have a job at all.

"When it pours, it rains" I don't know if this is right or if it even applies to this situation correctly, but that's how I know it. Congratulations and good luck! I have never applied for work yet, but if I do, I wish to experience the same.

That sounds wonderful. That certainly shows that the job market is very much in need of people like yourself. I wish you all the best. And, you will then have the chance to choose the job that you prefer, the type of job, the position offered, and so on.

You are quite right, though I won't be picky, any amount of money I can work with. I don't have any money right now and am in desperate need of it, so much so that I'll do anything for it.

After I got out of college, I used to send out 3 to 4 resumes a day. That ensured that I got 1 or 2 interviews a week. But that was a long time ago, when the economy was still fine. I haven't gone through all my notifications yet, but I do hope you've nailed on of these interviews.

I hope your interview goes well and that you are able to get over your transportation problems! I'm sure you can find a friend or some form of public transport that can help you out there. Good luck!

I appreciate that, first the jobs, then I'll worry about getting to and from the jobs. If need be I guess I'll just bounce my account and buy myself a bike. It's not the safest thing to do but well It'll get me there atleast.

Well, good luck with that. I have experienced that. I got two interview schedules in a day. What I did, since I can't come to the two schedules, I didn't showed up on the other one. Thankfully, I got the job where I attended the interview and that's where I'm working now. Be on time! Break a leg. :)

Thank you I appreciate that. Yes the one wanted to schedule one for today but I said no I couldn't, I don't think I could have made it to the one today. I still have the transportation issue to work with, but if I can get the job my happy butt could walk if nothing else fails. I may actually do a bit of walking myself, time myself to see how long I can get to certain places. I don't know, anyway thank you for the congratulations. Glad you did get that second job, I was planning on not attending this interview but I will attend it.

Oh I hope you get one of them too! I know you really really need this right now. Hopefully if you get a job, there will be someone there that you can maybe carpool with. I know what it is like to go without a vehicle and it's a challenge for sure. I went 4 yrs without one. I was lucky in that I was able to walk to my work at the time. Still, there was no close by shopping center so every other week I would splurge for a taxi and me and my kids would go into town and get groceries and whatever else we needed. Once in a while I was able to give a friend a few dollars for gas and get a ride but I hated asking my friends for too many favors.

I am retired but back when I was in need of work I did get a call from one place when I got home from a interview and had been told I had the job. It certainly did make me feel good. I wish you luck in getting one of these jobs. I know you have been looking awhile. Surely you will get one of them!

I know the feeling, many times I felt that all the things have to come at the same time, however I am sure you can managed. Crisis actually test the character of a person and hardships builds one character. So after all this you would have experience something not many people could understand. I guess it is god's life test and I am sure you would be able to pass with flying colors.

congrats on two job interviews!! that is amazing, especially with this economy. I got two calls, one day after the other in a large school district several years ago. I was working a convention in Indy when I got the first call, so i turned right back around(only to have left my house key at the hotel). I called a friend who was about the same size so I could crash and steal clothing. That morning on the way to the one interview, I got a call from another building. I was able to set the second one up for the afternoon. I did not get either of them, but ended up in another position within the school district from a later interview.

Congrats on two job interviews. First you should behavior is so important and those interviews make the best impression. I really think that a work place should be full of positive energy you will gain some of that and help yourself become more successful.

Very timely for me! I currently have three job options now. One application process is already at the job offer stage, another is on the second interview stage and another on the preliminary interview stage. I've been trying to juggle my schedule for each of them as of the moment. And to top that, I am still currently employed and have yet to resign! I'm trying to delay the job offer to see if I will get something better from the others. But still, it really is nice to have options that you can choose and weigh in. I hope I can get land a nice job whatever I choose to. And of course, good luck on you too SomeCowgirl! Go, go, go and ace those interviews!
