So, I've repeated the phases list, with the updates for you guys! Phase one: clean out the green shed is: DONE! Phase two: fix craft shed is: DONE! Phase three: organize craft shed: in planning stages Phase four: clean out blue shed: started Phase five: re-sort materials put into green shed: looked at - desk and chair removed to craft shed Phase six: organize craft materials in blue shed: not started Phase seven: sort cat room: about a third done, including removing the table to the craft shed and taking the stuffed animals out and sort them because of the Elmer assistance... Phase eight: convert cat room into a spare bedroom/guest room by building in a captain's bed - the roommate has a totally blind friend and rather than have her move into some kind of assisted living, she's going to move in with us, meaning we need another bedroom, and all I do in my bedroom is sleep and store some underwear so the cat room conversion would be for me if we still have the roommate "J" - has to wait until phase 7 is completed Phase nine: clean and organize the front room (lots of craft stuff in there) - STARTED and about half organized, with some cleaning done. Phase ten: clean and organize the office - whole different sent of issues in there, but until we have space to put stuff either in a shed or in a better organized way we have some "pile-it" problems - a chair that was being stored in there is now out in the craft shed... So, while we still have a LOT to go, we are also seeing cool days so we can start doing jobs outside again... I'll keep you guys posted as things get worked on.

I've been staining our back screen door - mahogany brown - and am getting ready to spackle, sand, then paint the new cellar door we made. I already painted the hinges sparkling gold, since we used the old hinges that were kind of dull metal. I'll be painting the door, plus the back porch, a nice chestnut brown. Before the weather gets too too cold. I love outdoor projects like that. Luckily, there's nothing to clean out.

Oh, I'm not really into that kind of work myself, I'm more of a sit and stitch sort. This cleaning and sorting stuff is well down on my list of "favorite things" but it has to be done...

Great! So glad to see you're making progress and with the cool weather heading in you'll be done with it before you know it! Does it help to keep us updated (motivate you?) I know I have no motivation but have gotten a bit of work done myself.

Yes, keeping people appraised on the project gives me the will power to keep after it. And the praise and encouragement I get here really helps.

We've all been in the same boat, having to clean up nearly a whole house if not a whole house, that's what your doing. You'll get it done and be so glad you did. I love the feeling of a clean and organized house, it's so comforting.

Yep, and if it stays dry we will have more time to work outside on the sheds... Not that we really WANT it to stay dry, we are desperately in need of rain!

You know, I'm a pretty busy person myself but I get tired just READING about what you're doing! Ugh! I'm happy that you can put DONE after some of these things and STARTED after others. I bet you're happy as well but I'm guessing you won't be really happy until you can put DONE after every one of these. You're doing it right, though, at least in my opinion, a little at a time and eventually it'll all be finished. I've pretty much been at a standstill with things in my house lately, since my husband has been home recouperating. I'm extremely happy to announce that, today, he's back at work!!! YEA!!!!! I feel as though a heavy weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I've been really busy today going through more of my things, getting ready for the big move. I can do so much more when HE'S not around. I'm also happy that you've decided to share all this with us because it's an inspiration. It is for me, anyway. I've tended to get busier right after reading one of your discussions about this. My mind has been walking across the hall into my office ever since I saw this discussion. It's telling me to get started in there (again) since I still have a lot of paperwork of my mother's and stepfather's to go through that I've been procrastinating about doing. (It's just so BORING!) I don't want to have to move it yet again so I think I'll be working on that for awhile now. THANK YOU for the renewed inspiration and keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to your "It's All Finished!" discussion.

I'm glad I'm helping you get inspired, and I'm looking forward to posting said discussion - but I don't expect it'll be this year - I'd be thrilled if I do it next!

I have a ton of projects. Some have been started, but weather, time or money has halted some, so I have a few that are not done yet. Good for you.

Well, I sure can understand all of the above as reasons to not get things done. I'm looking forward to getting more done out there, but on weekdays, especially a day like today, not much get done. I did carry a couple of things out and did another row on the cork door, I don't want to do more than one row at a time for fear they will come off.

I have a lot of sorting to do in the attic, and that waits for cooler weather in the fall or warmer weather in the spring. Yesterday I found a box with twenty six completed four square quilt blocks and lots of squares to make more. I recognize the materials, but I do not have any direct memory of when I was sewing it up. I do not know when I was doing it. I may get to make a Christmas present out of it. I am having a wonderful time finding treasures. Now I need to get busy using it. It helps to have friends who are doing similar. I always had a friend who wanted to come "clean out my house" and throw it all away. That is not helpful. Especially since her house was so gross I could not stand it. So her you go with your shed and here I go with my attic.

Wow such persistence and so wonderfully organized! Thankfully you are at phases that the weather should not be an issue. Best of luck with it all. I am also ridding of unnecessary things I can live without as although mine is no way near your big projects I am making some room as some areas are really cluttered here. Looking forward to yet more completed phases for you.

Well, working on the sheds does mean that we need nice, dry weather, but I don't think that will be too much of an issue... since its fall and we aren't really seeing that much of a change in the weather.
