Hi Friends and Lotters
Recently I was told by a close friend of Mine that I am on this site for Money
....and then, another one whom I asked said it is a possible reason of me being here as for friendship there are other sites!!!
Money? How Much? A Mere USD 10? Heck, it isnt even enough for my monthly expenses on Chocos, Cakes, Chowmien (Noodles)
There are a lot of other places to be on If I was After Money and you all know those places...Right!!!
I fail to understand why people have such standards and think all of the world to be the same as they are... At least I am not one of those who would say I am not after money on other discussions that asked - Why Are You Here or would you still continue MYLOT if it became a NON Paying Site - and talk about or bring in Money onto discussions anywhere they think.
I am using this website to gain on Information, Knowledge and Friendship. This site exists for me only because It allows me to reach out to friends which I cannot do in real life - because of the Differences in Locations and also because of the fact that I am confined to my home.
Your Views.

To be frank, i logged into this site with the intention to make money.But after i am seriously into it,i loved everything about it.It is the best discussion board online.Here most of my doubts got clarified.I trust the people in this site.I have made many friends and invited a few to my Facebook account just to have a long term relationship.I enjoy every second here.Money is now secondary for me.Facebook is nothing when compared to this site.Whether you believe it or not after entering into mylot i now rarely visit facebook just to say a hi or to view my notifications.There is nothing else to do in that site.Its a mere waste of time there.What do you feel?

. Many of my issues too have gt resolved here. I have found a place on the Internet where I can afford to be me without any masks and this really makes things great.
I too find facebook boring as I never got used to it. It is all about photos and messages but nothing about these great discussions where we really share and become close to many friends of ours.

Like you, I rarely go to facebook as I am so hooked up in here. I wasn't online these past few days because of my busy schedule but I am happy that I am back now.
Money is actually the first reason on why most mylotter sign up in here. And that is usually the main reason of most of us. But as we go on with our lives, we tend to realize that it is not all about that. And mostly, we tend to realize that it is about the friendship we got.
Like you, I also trust the people in here. And I have learned a lot from them. I learned a lot of things about life and from other aspects which of great help to me.
Anyways, enjoy this site. ^^

Come on, my friend! Everybody knows how crazy you are when it comes to chocolate and cakes. You must admit you need the ten dollars from myLot to buy yourself more chocolate.
I will not hide behind words, the reason I joined myLot was... money.
I can't do too much with the money I earn here but still I can't stay away from myLot.
When time didn't let me be here for as long as I wanted, I thought I was going to forget myLot. But guess what? Every day or every other day I come here, even if I don't participate, at least I take a look at what are my friends doing. Could this be... addiction?

What you say is addiction to many... but I have a different view. I think it is the fact that we want to be amongst our friends that we keep logging in here. as normal - we would like meeting our real world friends many a times and we dont say or call that addiction... same here. The only thing... it is via internet...

Yeah even i see many other people saying that. But i agree that apart from money there are plenty of other reasons to be on mylot. For me the resons can be i improve my english, interact more with people,learn and gain more knowledge. If other than this i am getting paid for it , it is just awesome!

I am here on MYLOT as it was first site which i joined after buying a computer at home and the purpose for it to earn something from online sites.
I know we can't earn much from it but its OK if i get something just to interact with friends and sharing experiences/knowledge.
People forget sometimes something apart from money is also the reason for hanging on to particular site.

Hello Sids! My friend introduces me to Mylot. At first, I am encouraged to join because of the money that I will earn, but as time goes by, I really enjoyed Mylot not because of the earnings but for the experience, I dont really earn a lot of money here but I earn a lot of wisdom and hope to earn more friends. I am a member for about 2 months now, but I am really enjoying this.

I come here for the friendship and the conversations. Right now I come for the encouragement. The money is an added bonus. I can buy some little something that is not in my budget. so that makes me happy, too.
Yes, some people only see things from their point of view. Sad that they can't see things from other points of view. To be pitied more than scorned, I suspect.

I wouldnt have found you if it wasnt HWG. And I fail to understand, where does money creep in here. But yes, I agree with you that there are some who can be pitied for their thoughts which are quite so narrow and mean.
But as always, we humans tend to forget and move on and so am I. right now, I have moved ahead, and now this is a thing of the past. I know some other day I will encounter one such thing again but now, I am prepared - I will have a mug of coffee and not opt in for a rant of this kind

honestly, i became interested because someone told me i could earn money from MyLot. i joined and put only one discussion and took a leave of one year then decided to come back.
second to earning money, it is the learning that i acquire that gets me interested. nobody has a monopoly of wit and it pays to hear others talk about a specific matter or discussion.
third, i love diversity. the diverse cultures in this world make it more interesting to live in.

Hi Thesids, earning from this site will never able to compensate and gives me enough money to pay for my electricity and internet fees. But, i enjoy the fun of answering and creating discussions in here. Even have the chance to interact with members from around the world, getting to know their lifestyles and cultures as well. Anyway perhaps many have been attracted here because of the (possible) earnings, I know I did when I came across this site by accident while browsing the web. Being attracted here is one thing but those who stayed on, and there are many many many people who have been here for years, I am sure the earnings is not the most important thing. It is a nice bonus that came after those that you have mentioned--knowledge, information and friendship. And whoever said that it is ALL for the money, maybe they didn't have first hand experience or maybe they didn't have a good time or whatever reason. I came to myLot for money - it was just 5 months ago since I thought of trying to use the Internet for something better other than facebook gaming So the first reason that brought me here is to earn. Although eventually, I have gained friends like you here - which makes my interaction and discussions here more fun and entertaining. I have tried to set a quota for my earnings before but then I could not even do it now - and I think it is okay. I eventually fount out that knowledge, friends here, and reading similar experiences here where I can get ideas and apply in my own life are the main reason why I still come here even when my daily earnings are suffering now. It is 10th of the month now and I am still not earning 5 dollars where before I am already reaching the minimum. It is not such a big deal for me now - but of course, I can't deny that I am enjoying the earning part still while I am enjoying interacting with friends and even the new people I came across here. I just love myLot and even when I become busy one day and won't be able to spend a lot of time here - I will somehow peek in and continue to pop once in a while.

You know, when we get close, something like you referring me as godson and me referring you as godmom... I think we get closer and above the Monetary things for sure otherwise I feel uncomfortable using such words of affection and closeness between us. Now, in amidst this where does money creep in!

and I am happy that I have friends/family here now who's treating me like they have known me for a long time -- eventhough there are no offline interactions, I used to come here for the sake of seeing whether friends are here and made any discussions.
Of course I will still be here once in a while but the priorities might change... but myLot and my friends here have become my habit already. Anyway that day hasn't come yet and I'm still coming everyday

I would lie if I said that I don't care about the money at all, because I think that it is wonderful to get paid for something that I would have done for free If MyLot stopped paying I would still be here because I love learning new things through the discussions and I have found some great friends here

Well I like many others were brought here because of the pull that you could make money. BUT, if it was just about the money, I would have long since packed my bags and left this website. I don't really know if many other people will share my sentiments however. Its not completely about the money, but that can be a motivating tool for many.
And if this website became non paying...well some might stick around, but I think that there would be a lot less discussions on here. That is just the nature of the beast. Free discussion forums can have moderately sized communities, but obviously, I just know in the back of my mind, that many people who signed up, are here to make some money.
If there is no money, then they will be gone faster than you can blink. There wouldn't be as much knowledge to share. And I fear that myLot will whither and die. Perhaps I'm wrong, but you never know what will happen until it happens. Hopefully if some day it may(doesn't seem like it will), there will still be quality discussions, even after what I fear to be a mass exodus of a lot of the website.

This is what the point is. Not all of us around are here to make money or even have a great use of that 10 odd USD this site pays. Given the time we input, I am sure this in quite un-proportional.
The real price which I believe I get is - friends, discussions and knowledge... enough for me to stay hooked here. For all my monetary and financial needs... there is my website development work which I do on the Internet and I am happy with that amount it fetches me.
if it was just about the money, I would have long since packed my bags and left this website
This is what the point is. Not all of us around are here to make money or even have a great use of that 10 odd USD this site pays. Given the time we input, I am sure this in quite un-proportional.
The real price which I believe I get is - friends, discussions and knowledge... enough for me to stay hooked here. For all my monetary and financial needs... there is my website development work which I do on the Internet and I am happy with that amount it fetches me.

Its no limit of earning on mylot, so if we only after it we surely would have hyper work here.. But I guess its not same for all of us. Now I used to come here to interact with friends...
I guess lots of people will not believe this but I will be still active if mylot stop paying.. May be I will not that active but I will never left mylot.

People who come to Mylot only for the money are probably not going to be here for very long. Don't get me wrong I like the idea that I can discuss things with friends and acquaintances here and get paid for it. There are better ways to earn money though. If I consider the amount of comments I have to put in here and the time I spend doing it just to get to my first payout the money just isn't good enough. For me this is an international community. It's a chance to interact with people from all walks of life and different cultures. Might even make some friends here that I would otherwise not ever meet.

This is exactly the reason of my heading. The amount of time we spend is high and the payment is quite negligible. So if I was for money here...
Anyways, the fact is that many just dont understand that the site is more loved by a few handful who love the discussions and participation.

I totally disagree with u everyone joins this site thinking that he may earn something than earning nothing,but maybe after signup some people enjoy this site and make new friends,but iam definately sure that everyperson who joined this site may have thought that he have got an another money making site...............
