I was sitting here thinking what would make people that hate reading guidelines really go and read them? then I thought about how advertisers post their ware by sugar coating it, and come up with an idea,. call the guidelines :"How To Make Money Faster" and surely some would really go for that,. Your take my fellow mylotters?

How about MyLot Helpful Hints? I still do not think some people would read. It just does not suit them anymore, but maybe we could fool a few.

Hi Garden Gerty uh yes why not it might get some to read them,.I think a lot of people have read other guideline that seemed all the same so now they think mylots are the same but they sure are not,But after some of us ex plain some of the rules then some do say they have gone back and read the guidelines.go figure.

hi neildc gardengerty always comes up with great ideas .I think it would be a great idea and does not sound so damned commercial either. It would indeed tell us all how to gain. Maybe it would] prod people to read the information as once they do most admit it helped them a lot.

I would like to second GG's motion, myLot Helpful Hints. this could be a better title but even though it tells all about how it would help us gain, most people would simply go on with what they think a site should be.

Well in a way isn't it the truth? I guess im coining the way MysD thinks on this one, but well I'm thinking that if they did read them, and followed them they wouldn't be losing the money, they'd be gaining it. Yes I think we need more incentive for those who don't read the guidelines, really of any site, to read them. If it's not monetarily, then atleast... well something.

hi somecowgirl I know its really blatant and probably offensive to so me but there has to be a way to get them past the idea that all guidelines are the same so no sense in reading mylots. mylot's guidelines are the keys to making good discussions and posts that 'will not be deleted because they broke the rules.Surely they wou ld make so me earnings if they did not lose posts and also if they knew the rules they wo uld not respond to something that broke the ru les thus saving their responses or comments too.I think its only common sense like in getting something you must put together from scratch, you do read the instructions so why do they not read the guidelines too?

I also think by reading the guidelines most people are able to do better and are able to respond and comment on the discussions better. I think it is always good to read the guidelines and follow them.

hi green moo yes I think thats one of the catches that it sounds like a come on and I suppose in a way it would be. a rough idea that needs some revising I think lol.I am probably like you in that had it been called that I would have shied away.to me guidelines means a guide in how to use mylot and i guess I am a nerd because I did read it and did follow it and have made quite a bit of money over the years.to me its the friendships from all over the worled that I enjoy as I feel isolated where I am in a retirement center. also I now have to use a walker and do not get out like I used to and this I miss so much.

Why not? lol people are like that, even in books no one read the bibliography page, or no one would even glance at foot notes! Or in insurance policy sometimes people do not read the policy at all and end up complaining in the end.. sometimes it is that way here too. People would register and end up complaining of not earning enough

hi jazel_juan yes people are so funny.they do not w ant to be told what to do so they just bull their way thru then whine "why was my post deleted" well gee whiz had you read the don'ts you would know why it was deleted.this seems like common sense to me but evidently the newer ones will not agree.

Hi Hatley, I am totally agree with you, people prefer to see positive stuff than negative, and people tend to be rebellious than follow what they are told to do. So, if the guideline show something that they think will benefit them, they will definitely read them. Instead of keep telling them they cannot do this and that, just tell them, if you do this or follow this, you will earn more and will not get your post deleted, you will get this if you do not break the rules. I think in such a way, they will be more willingly to follow.

hi simplyd I started out more or less tongue in cheek but stlll if there was a positive spin on the guidelines that might entice the readers to really read up on the guidelines as they would learn how to keep from having so many posts deleted.and not having them deleted would mean more earnings, and more eanning might make'newbies want to keep on mylotting.

That's true Hatley. I myself, even if i was here for more than a year already, i would still get deleted responses to discussions because sometimes out of eagerness to the subject, since i can totally relate, i forget some guidelines. Thus, i ended having subtractions on my earnings.

I think it might work for some of the youngsters out there who seeing that way. I find it sad that it feels like it has to come to that. Common sense is a rare commodity sometimes.

hi celticeagle I did this more or less tongue in cheek bu t sondered what it would take to get new ones to really want to read the guidelines and the FAQ's? To me it just makes good sense to know how a site works when you are completely new to it. i just do not understand people who refuse to save their discussions by learning the dos and donts in the guidelines.

hi celticeagle and isnt it odd that they do not get it? unless jheu are like the princess who lost all her boyfriends cause when she lay on a chaise lounge and asked them to peel her a graoe meaning the whole grape cluster they just walked out lol.in other wor ds spoon feed me the guidelines as I am too lazy to read it,just tell me what they say as you are older and in the Know. as I tell themn to read the informaiton I see the princess waiting for the guys to peel her a gra p e.

Seems like a nice idea as this would certainly catch the attention of the reader but the only let back I can think of is that people will start to get back to the site claiming that they've been mislead when their incomes won't go up.

hi ybong007 yes I thought about that aspect too.seems so many have an absolutely unreal expectation as to how much money you can make here they are trying to get offline wages for doing as little as possible and no place on earth is going to pay us a lot for just doing a little; life does not work like that. but people who read the guidelines and the FAQ 's do make a lot more than the eag er beavers who read nothing and bull ahead messing up posts and getting most deleted then asking how do we know what will be deleted. for heaven's sakes if you would just have read and learned the dos and do nots of making discussions. 'We can tell them and tell them but if they read the guidelines they would be able to enjoy and have fun here.after all there's more to life than just money, friends, learning, sharing, caring and relaxing here as a haven and a place to find peace.really most people here are just wonderful. dp

It is a good idea if it can decide some new members to read the guidelines. A lot of them are leaving soon after joining, and everything that could make them stay here is welcomed. The guidelines would certainly be more popular with your catchphrase.

hi topffer and dupremo yes it might make it more popular my point being that we need something to get the newbies'to want to read the guidelines as they think it will help them to earn some money and I am right it will if they read all the information and follow the dos and do nots of discussions too.

And yes it is true also as following guidelines properly they can make more money on mylot. That can be serve the purpose for sure.

hi dupremo oh here in southern California we keep being told the employment is picking up oh yeah? says who? with the unemployment rate still the second highest in the whole US its picking up with people out of work, homes being foreclosed, renters being evicted as they are broke and out of wo k? someone has to be joking but it is not funny. my son was out of work for two years now working almost full time at fifteen dollars and hour when he had worked for 30 an hour. but he told me" Mom its a job and its money and right now its something I know how to do and a job is a job now." hes right but I hated to see him at 42 have to take half of what he is worth while younger guys with no computer programming experience and just the degree had got the few jobs that opened up. here hundreds vie for each job. you are right about the right place.networking and a an old friend my son had worked with was how he got the job he has. it pays to network and to be in the right place.

hi louievill yep You have to make the horse drink even though you led newbies to mylot, you must attract them to read and learn all the info since money seems to be about all a lot of newbies ever think about it should get them. friendships and learning here do not attact some money grubbing mylotters at all.To me mylot is a lot more than a place to earn some money, its making friends, helping people , getting help, learning new ideas new cultures, new customs

hi angelgee14 yes it mi ght work even though its pretty'comericial as so many newbies disregard the other rixches mylot provides and only focus on making money, how do I make more money plus tell me etc etc but they never consider some of the other great things about mylot at all until t hey are here for awhile or more likely just quit. what gets me is how anyone expects to get paid for merely being here and logging in. any time I have made money anywhere I had to actually do something to earn that money. I did not get it for logging in and having a pretty avatar or q quaint username. I had to so so mething to earn that money. the guidelines do provide the ways to get your oosts to stay and attact response and get your discussions going. and in doing this you will earn money.

What about a tutorial video plus free snacks? Or converting the guidelines into music lyrics patterned and patented with the "I will always love you" rendition of Jessica Sanchez in American Idol or Pyramid by Charice or Just the way you are by Bruno Marz or any among the songs of Lea Salonga, Michael Jackson, Beatles or Frank Sinatra? Just an opinion, Hatley

Hello, sabado_dc and Hatley! I love that song by Bruno Mars that's why I added it to my profile My favorite lines are: When I see your face There's not a thing that I would change If it's in the guidelines, I'll always go back and pretend that I'm reading them again.

That is a great idea, since the other solution I guess fell through, the one where a video was suppose to be made and that when one signs up, the video will be there to watch. But then I realized that won't work unless there are a couple questions pertaining to the video that one must answer correctly to continue the sing up process. So, yeah, your idea may work, you should pass it along to Alex..

I think it would probably cause more people to actually go and read them but I hope there really would be tips on there about how to make money on what ever site it is. Of course they could throw the rules and legal mumbo jumbo in between the tips. If there were no actual tips on how to make more money though I think that would be deceptive.

hi jenintn but still theres something to that I really do not like about my idea. maybe its the over emphasis on money and not on fun and enjoyment and sharing and caringf in our friendships with others f rom all over the world. learning alone has intrigued me and taught me stuff that you do not get from history books I know some would say friendships do not pay bills but yet they would be surprised that friends and networking often do get mylotters jobs.

I think this is an excellent idea Hatley! A form of reverse psychology. Or a way to get people with aversion to rules and guidelines to go into something that they obviously want fast - how to make money faster. Then maybe after reading it, they would actually get ideas on how to earn (faster) instead of just getting kicked out because of violations.

hi bounceit might work as long as they are made to understand they are not getting rich as it was not designed for that but they can make some excellent earnings as they also make wonderful friendships with people from all over the world.all so its a place to relax and have s ome fun and enjoyment.

Dear Ms Hatley Though the idea of redoing the title to "How To Make Money Faster" - might take the newbies on this page of guidelines, I am sure they are still not going to read all those texts... Simply as it seems to very Black and White. MyLot should change and make that pages more colorful and add some pictures or images which would convey more without having to read those boring lines of text.

yes thesids moderniZe it a bit like some colorful images maybe of stuff we could buy or some dancing cats singing the dos and donts as everyone loves animated stuff, sort of a video thing I guess. but all that does cost money of course. just thinking here anyway and wishing people would just read the guidelines instead of asking questions already answered in the FAQ's
