Do not forget, always check your spam folder

I should know this, but I forgot. I started a new discussion this afternoon, and wondered why no one responded. I went to the discussion started tab, and found that I had ten responses. I took care of those, then realized others have been talking about their notifications going to spam. Sure enough, mine did too. So do not forget, always check your spam folder.

That is a good idea! I always just check mine by looking at the bottom right corner of the main page of 'discussions I have started' and it says a number by it for the number of replies, and also it is in bold if there are new ones to respond to as well.

Well my notifications are not in my spam folder either. I just went through the "started" tab again and found these responses. I guess I am going to have to contact MyLot, this is serious. I try to comment on all my responses.

Yes, I am aware that sometimes even mail from people we know go to spam. I do check my spam before deleting. But the problem is that it needs to be done regularly or else there's so much spam to scan through for a few genuine mails. Thank you for the reminder:-)

I have not seen you in a while friend. I will need to contact MyLot on this one and also update my preferences on my e mail. I am now not even getting these notices in my spam folder. I wonder where they are going. I very seldom have anything good in my spam.

I've been busy on the personal front and I haven't been on mylot on a regular basis. Even with preferences set on email, it does happen that a few genuine mails go to spam. I have two email accounts...one on yahoo and one on gmail. I find that things are better at gmail and I don't really need to check the spam folder before I delete. I am part of a mail list for homeschoolers and even mails that are obviously from someone in the list, I find in the spam folder of my yahoo mail. I have to check everytime before I delete it. But you say, your Mylot notifications haven't gone to the spam either? Now that's funny!Where could they have gone?

I checked my friends and their notifiers are on. The problem is even worse today as the only thing I got from MyLot was when two discussions I responded to were deleted. I will give them the weekend to look into it, then try contacting them again.

I find that providers send multiple mails from the same places to SPAM. Yahoo is especially bad for this. With sites like MyLot and Gather, one is bound to get thousands of e-mails!! That's just the nature of the site, and yet some mail providers just assume they're SPAM. AARRGGHH. I had to move my Gather mail to gMail because Yahoo just wouldn't handle it anymore.

I will have to check and see if it is a yahoo problem, but it seems to just be my own notifications. I get the others, I checked the discussions friends started tab and I had seen all of those. Hmmmmm.

I wonder what is going on, because I have not had this trouble for years. I may have to go into my preferences on my e mail.

Mine go to anonymous email. I have two separate areas for my mail. One for mylot and one for local friends and family. Mylot hasn't ended up in spam. Ebay, Etsy, etc, they end up in span. But mylot has its own spot. But I check my spam quite often. Mostly because it fills up and sometimes new family or new friends come in.

Anonymous email is separate from your regular email. Earthlink has it, not all companies have it. Hope it slves your problem, too.

I am going to have to contact MyLot and see if there is a solution. I know others have not gotten notifications before. I did not even find these in my spam folder. I only get discussions from certain of my friends and not all of them.

I always check mine. Most of it's just junk, but some stuff, like mylot, has landed in there before. So I always check my spam folders just to be on the safe side. Happy mylotting!

I am back on track now. I do not know if I accidentally called some spam, or deleted them without opening them, or if MyLot had a problem or if the "security scan" that came with my Adobe upgrade caused it. It is good to see mylot in the inbox, though. I will be checking my spam often from now on.

I don't have that problem because on yahoo, I made a separate Mylot folder where all my Mylot messages go. It is a good set-up if you don't want to miss a notification..

How do you do that. I have all kinds of folders, but I have to move things in there manually. I have heard other people talk about this and I would like to do it.

Okay, I have classic yahoo, so if you have the newer version, it might be different. Here are the steps you take- Options (In the upper right hand of the page)-mail options-filters- new filter There you can put in mylot.com and all messages from this site will go to that folder.

Oh, and because it seems that mylot is experiencing some glitches today, if you have any problems, you can send me a message to my yahoo if you still have it. If not I will check this post tomorrow if the glitch has not been fixed, but for now, I am going to bed, got a major headache going on now..

I do run threw my spam folder before I delete it. I wasn't receiving emails from friend and wondered why. She was using another email I didn't have in my contacts so her emails were going to my spam folder. You just never know.

I think that sums it up completely. You just never know. I have my mylot back in my inbox for now, and I have a couple of theories of why this happened but they could all be false theories. You just never know.

I occasionally accidentally hit my spam instead of trash too and so I wonder if that has to do with afew going to the spam folder. Just a thought.

This is the first time this has happened in ages. When it happened before it was Yahoo's fault.

This is happening to me too and it's frustrating to say the least! I have my emails go into Outlook (as I have two addresses) as it's easier for me but just lately - as you say, my notifications are going into my Spam Folder. I've tried changing my settings to allow the sender in as non-spam but that's not worked and it's my McAfee security which is shoving them all in spam in the first place. Any ideas what to do in order to rectify the situation? I'm always really quick at responding to people's comments as a rule.

Hmmmmm. The other day I had to download an updated Adobe reader and it came with a MacAfee scan thing. I just took that off today as I do not like MacAfee. I wonder if that precipitated my problem.

I do the same as you but have to keep doing it..it's not automatic (into my inbox) as it used to be. Like you said though, at least I can do something about it...it's just remembering to do so!

I got notifications, it just that I stored everything up till I have the time or the mood to respond, whichever is coming first... I checked my spams always, afraid of some friend's emails got stuck there, but I never found any from mylot notifications...

I had that problem briefly a couple of years ago, but it stopped suddenly. Right now I'm annoyed with mylot. I haven't gotten any notifcations in three days. I contacted them about it right away, but they have not gotten back to me. It's frustrating.

I go through mine every few days before I permanently delete the folder's contents. I have found things that my email should know isn't spam, but it still goes there. It's always a good idea to look it over before wiping it out.

I try to check mine occasionally. It turns out I was missing out on a lot secret shopper opportunities because they were all in my spam folder. When I found out all that I have missing out on I was very disappointed, now I make sure to check it at least every other day because you never know what might end up in there. If an email comes in from a customer and I don't see it that would be really bad.

I set up an email address for mylot alone and this helped me with the spam problem. I have another older email and spend a lot of time to retrieve misplaced mail in there. This worked for me.

I never had my notifications from mylot land in the spam folder yet, but I still check it every day. For some reason the most important messages are often among the spams, I don't really understand this.

Well, now I am not getting them even in spam. That sure makes it hard to do myLot the way I am used to doing it.
