In the polar regions of a winter's sky is when the Aurora Borealis, or the Northern Lights, can best be seen. Iceland is one of the best places on earth to see this specticle. The best months to view these lights are October through April and they seem to peak from December through February. I was surprised in the late 70's one even in the beginning of the year to be traveling home from a get together at a friend's house and saw these lights up in the sky. Twirling green and blue, red and orange lights. They were spectacular. And I was in southwestern Idaho! Not Alaska or Iceland, but down in one corner of Idaho. Have you seen them and if so where?

The view looks spectacular and these lights look like divine lights. I have not had any opportunity to visit such lights.
