Have not been feeling very good lately. This time of year my mood goes down quite a bit. It seems to be happening sooner than usual this year. Nothing really that I can put my finger on went wrong to start the down hill spiral today. Just one thing after another. Do you have days like this when things just build on themselves until you just want to STOP and start all over again?

It is since last Friday that I do not feel very well, I think is the change of the season.

Oh yes - I would be one of those people who would abuse the reset button if there were one. I do hold a grudge when it comes to certain things that have happened in my life - so I actually can pinpoint just what it is . . . it pops up in my brain at times and then I feel "sick" all over again. I absolutely hate it.

Have to keep busy and not let it inch into your brain. If you can catch it early enough you should be okay. It's when you let it go too far that it will grab you.

@much2say ...Yesh, if you get too far into your own head and start double thinking decisions and such you can drive yourself crazy in the wee small hours of the morning.

@celticeagle That's the hard part - to not let it inch into my brain. In time I know the sick feeling goes away - that's the good part. But some nights I wake up wide awake going "What the heck was I thinking" for hours. Ugh.

I do have days like that. With me, it has to do with my rheumatoid arthritis. About once a month or so, I get really down about the pain and how I can't do much of anything anymore. I am generally over it within a day or two.

Yes, they can't start with just running late for work, then I drop everything or I hit every red light.. or forget something and have to go back. or all of the above and I can't find my keys... I definitely have had those days... by the end of the day I want and Ativan and my pillow. I don't handle stress well.. :)

From heart surgeries I have suffered with depression and it can get bad for a time. My Dr. will not give me meds to cope during this time. It is something that happens to many people after heart surgery evidently - the brain is somehow affected. I am sorry that you suffer from it too. It is difficult but you have to somehow force yourself to just keep going and find someone to call and talk to - even a hotline for people who are depressed, Get outside if possible during the daylight hours. I am so sorry that this is happening

I can certainly understand how a person who has just under gone such an important surgery could get depressed. I do make myself keep going. Have done so for 60 years or so. I don't go outdoors. My doc tells me the same thing. Doesn't make it any easier. It's one of those things like unless you walk a mile in my shoes......It's a cycle and I know it will come around to Spring again at some point.

I am sorry you don't feel well. I have days like that at times, and it really stinks. Food tastes like rubber, and I just feel sluggish and just don't feel like doing anything. Those are the days, I do wish I could go back to bad and start over. Thank goodness, I do't get to many of them, as most generally, I am really healthy.

Glad to hear you are healthy. I have severe depression with panic attacks so I am depressed most of the time. In the winter it is the worst. Some days I just don't do well. Have slept ALOT the last few days.

Yes, I also go through phases like this! I've noticed that my mood changes can be very closely linked to weather changes, and I believe this affects many other people. I know that persistently grey, drab and cold weather gets me down. Ever since we made the move to Botswana, where the sun shines almost all 365 days of the year, I'm not as given to these weird bouts.

That is really good that you are in an area where the sun shines so much. Someone who is sensitive to seasonal changes needs that sun.

@celticeagle I've gone from very wet and cold UK weather to extremely hot weather in Botswana LOL But, i try not to moan too much to friends and family in the UK, because we do get a lot more sun here than they do in the UK. The drab, grey weather used to really get me down, so I don't want to seem ungrateful.

I have been having a lot of problems keeping my spirits up lately. Some days I feel really good about things and the next I am so low. Currently I am undergoing treatment for an autoimmune disease and that doesn't help. Bills go up and paycheck stays the same. Want to work and can't get a job. I know how you feel.

Hmm, so your mood gets worse in the winter. Do you get enough sunshine in the winter? I would suggest taking more vit D and getting one of those lights that mimics sunshine for one lamp you sit near. Hubby gets a touch of seasonal depression over the winters, we have found this helps

I keep having my lows and ups - with the lows on the very higher side. I am quite sensitive and can even feel down reading about some one doing bad somewhere - and I have no direct relation with anything concerned. Yet I feel concerned and start getting sad/ depressed. Apart from these, I always have some nightmares, events from my past that keep haunting me. And when all seems to go smooth, the health issue arises and things flair up. But I have learned to live with them. As long as I fight with the situation, I realized I feel more depressed. So I made arrangements and accepted these to be a part of my life. Things are somewhat smoother for now. And no, I do not want to stop and start all over again - I do not have the heart and the courage to undergo the same scenes again, ever. I know, that the response is not what you mean by Stop and Restart - but then, that is how things are handled easier - as far as they go with me.

I have days when I feel happy for no apparent reason. I have other days when I feel sad or even anxious for no apparent reason. We're not talking bi-polar disorder type swings. Just minor variances in mood that someone else might not even notice, but that I can feel.

That is great that you have that. Multiply those feelings by about seven and you will know how my daughter feels from one month to the next. And my severe depression is such that I am just always sort of bummed. In the fall and winter it is much worse or if I get stressed. And bad situations will through me into a deep, dark depression. It isn't fun. I do have some good days in spring and summer.
