Richard Gere and Julia Roberts are good together. I think their pairing in Runaway Bride worked out better than in Pretty Woman. The whole premise of Pretty Woman was just stupid if you ask me. Runaway Bride was slightly more believable and an altogether more enjoyable movie the PW in my humble opinion.
While I am not one of those who think Julia Roberts is all that beautiful, I do believe she is an incredibly talented actress. My favorite Julia Roberts movie does not include Richard Gere. It was Notting Hill with Hugh Grant.
How about you? Are you a Julia Roberts fan? Are you more impressed with her acting or her looks? Which leading man would you rather see her play opposite?

I have seen this movie a few times and agree with you - Julia Roberts is an amazing actress and truly lives each part. I so admire her. However, I am not to fond of Richard Gere .

As a woman i liked Pretty Woman..I liked how she changed her way of looks, ideas and basically grew up.
Not a fan of her acting, I personally don't think she can act..BUT she is very photogenic and interesting to look at she seems to be offered many main roles.
I do like her real life views and can agree with the way she lives now as a wife and mother.
Leading man?..I'd like to see her opposite an older actor. Someone out of her genre

"...she is...interesting to look at..." is a nice way of describing Julia's looks. As I said to my wife once, she is at a glance attractive but when you look at her for very long you realize she isn't traditionally beautiful. I do think her acting has gotten much better as she's matured. She's no Meryl Streep, but I think in the long run she'll be remembered more for her acting than her looks.

@DWDavis all women have their flaws but i think what was great about Julia was her red hair in Pretty Woman...It made her stand out...Later movies she cut, or changed hair colors and she looks kinda bland in the movie she is in.
Meryl Streep is a great actress but she is pretty not beautiful either...Most actresses i would go for in looks are in classic movies and or have passed on.
Rita Haywood , Elizabeth Taylor,Natalie Wood to name a few..

I think that Julia Roberts is a great actress. She is pretty but not in that gorgeous kind of way. I think her best leading man is Richard Gere. They have such a good chemistry on the screen.

I saw this movie so long ago I don't really remember it. I never thought Julia Roberts was a great beauty. Pleasant to be sure but not like Michelle Pfeiffer or Kim Basinger. She is a good actress. I also liked Notting Hill.
