A deep craving for....

Some originality! I know we don't all follow the same people, and we even have different time zones. So there should be, in my opinion, a lot more diversity then there is. I was absence for a while but since being back, I have noticed that everyone is posting basically the same discussions over and over. Yes, this is a 'discussion' site. But once you read a topic of discussion once, twice, 3 times. The discussion is basically moot after that. You can only comment and interact on it for so long. Maybe I am just too picky. However, we all lead different lives so I can only hope that someone/ somewhere has something original to offer. Is anyone else wanting some originality?? If not, I will simply shut up and go about my business.

I remember that also Bubblews had very repetitive posts "good morning" "good night" and so on, every day of the year. Skip the discussions you do not like. We are not obliged to read everything.

I know exactly where you are coming from, even though I did a post on B myself. In my defence TheHorse and I were the first ones to do so. However, enough is enough.

@TexanTornado I completely agree with you, and I don't read re-hashed news stories (i.e Paris) - I can get those from my TV or newspaper. The one I did about B was my first and last one about the site, and I wouldn't have done that if there were others on the same subject.

So, what kind of discussions do you suggest? I personally dislike the ones that are "minute by minute through my day" (only one I am connected to right now) or the ones that turn into lectures on the benefits of _________. You name it. I tend to not start too many discussions. I have seen some that I related to, not on the bubs or Paris topic, and I try to let people know I appreciate their thoughtfulness.

@gardengerty Well, I know this will rub people the wrong way. And please keep in mind, I don't think I am better than anyone else. I simply just get sick of the news being broadcast over and over, I am sick of 'what I ate for for whatever meal', the 'good morning/night', etc. I am sure you get the gist of the ones I mean. I would prefer things of someone's actually life, experiences, etc. Stuff of that nature. I don't mean all the whining or complaints of their life either. As I said, maybe I am just too picky.

@TexanTornado But you know that I LIKE being slapped, so it really would not be a deterrent for me. I brush my teeth with a toothbrush. I make sure to use someone else's toothbrush to clean the toilet and grout and such, though.

I do agree with you for the most part. Those who have families in Paris, lived in Paris, etc. but all those from the US who are writing Paris posts, it says to me, they are trying to capitalize on others misfortune, and I have a real issue with that. It's my issue I know. So I will let it go.

No need to shut up , we should be able to speak freely on here. I do agree somewhat with what you are saying about seeing the same posts over and over it does get a little old. It is always nice to hear everyone take on a subject. There is so much you can discuss on here you know

I will simply mark it up to I am a bit moody. Yes, the same topics over and over is getting quite old for me. Every so often, which I don't think it's asking for much, is give me something new. Examples: Tell me about your child in a play, a story of when you were a child, a trip you took and what you experienced. Something, anything.

I agree with you. I have seen several discussions abot the B site closing. I have ignored them, as I have responded to one, and I don't have anymore to add to the others. I hate to see the same topic being posted over and over again. I do agree that there is not enough originality. I won't post a discussion on a topic that has already been posted, as you said, it does become a moot point. They might be written differently, but all have the same idea in them, and that isn't originality.

@TexanTornado I do agree. No sense in posting discussions on it when there is nothing anyone can do anymore. It really gets me when people just keep harping on it, it will be a turn off to me to see anymore discussions on it, let alone respoond.

I am glad I am not alone in my thinking. I know so many are here to make money, and I won't begrudge them that, but they need to realize after so many carbon copies, they are only hurting themselves because people like me, won't give the discussions the time of day. You are right, they might have their own take on it, changing it to them instead of the other 20 who did it. But it's still the same gist of it. The site is gone. Get over it, and move on.

@rebelann Yes, you can clearly tell which ones are only around to add to the bank account, and that is fine. I know some really need the money and I am willing to help them. If they can help themselves. Those that just want you to do it all for them, I tend to over look them all together. Yes, I know, I am mean. One of those threads? You mean where we all interact? I get lost on those, so I just look for my name and comment to that post.

You know something I personally feel the same way as you do. I saw yesterday more than one post on the closure of a site. I suggested on one of them it would of been nice if everyone commented or added to just one. Wow that was the wrong answer. Just before this I saw a lot of post on Paris. I was answer on two or three of them and then it because draining almost writing the same info over and over again. I wish before people did a new discussion they might do a search on the site. This could help limit the number of repeat discussion and add to the ones that have been started.

Oh yes, I am sure they wanted to crucify you such a suggestion. However, that is exactly how I feel. It would be more of a 'discussion' if everyone was on board of the 2-5 that was initially started. Honestly, I don't think they need to. If they done responded to a discussion on the topic they don't need to write their own. Unless it is totally and completely different.

@poehere OMG! So basically you are saying he wanted on the bandwagon of mentioning B, in hopes everyone would flock over to his discussion and pour out all the negativity and he could in hopes earn dollars off the discussion. Ok, sorry but that is just too funny. Yes, I would imagine he didn't like being called out on such. I think I know who you are talking about if it's the same one you mentioned 'hijacked' yours. And yes, I have noticed the same thing. Anyone who was observant and had any knowledge of all the on goings of the site, had to know it was coming. It was no shock or big news for me. Milestones aren't suppose to be posted and was told that eventually they would stop them. I stopped posted to them long ago. Just waiting to see what admin/owners do about them.

@TexanTornado Yes you are right. But it was funny because it was a person who had never been on the site. He was asking about what type of experiences people had. I basically said it would be nice to put them all together and that most of his answers were found on the other 15 posts on the site. He exploded and told me to read what he wrote. I told him I did and I stuck behind what I said. I have seen this person a few times do the same thing. If a post is doing well then he will hijack the topic and change it around and post it again to draw attention to himself. Oh well that is how it works and I don't get angry for him doing this one. Yesterday was the worse and it was 4 or out 5 for the site. I'm just hoping when this all wears off the site won't have so many complaints about this other place. It is sad they are gone but it has happened. Recently I have also seen some milestones posted and I answered them cause others did but I was always under the impression they were not tobe posted. The ones who did post them were long time members so I just thought they know the rules leave it alone.

No, there is no rule about posting on the same subject, but personally I think it defeats the purpose of a 'discussion' site. If everyone is just posting basically the same thing, leaving nothing to actually 'discuss' on the matter. I mean when you read the first 2-3 and comment, by time you get to the 10th of the same thing, what can you add?

To me it's way out of hand. If you look at the one who posted the 1st B fall, she has 50 something responses so people evidently read it.. But you got 20 more people who had to post their own. Then the Paris thing really sent me over the edge, that so many wishes to capitalize on such a thing. Ah yes, you have a very good suggestion. Thank you. Let me grab something to drink and that is what I will do.

I agree with you, we all have a view/opinion on the whole bubblews things, but to have 30 or more discussions started on it, is a bit much. People can share their views/opinions on the 1st 20 started. It was only their hopes up racking up the comments/likes on their own. And well, to each their own. I am so over it. I went to one and that was all I needed to give my view/opinion on it.
