We Stayed Home All Day

We were waiting for a workman, who happened to get sick, so he did not come.
I had told hubby that we needed to stay home today and get stuff done. That is why we went shopping last night.
I am so pleased, my husband is beginning the work on cutting the wall apart between the two kitchens. Soon it will be open all the way from the laundry room on the west to the pantry on the east. That will make putting things away and organizing a whole lot easier. I have tried to be patient and it is paying off.
I know he wanted to think it through before he started, and that is a good thing.

My daughter and her family will be here for about a week around Dec. 12. My son in law can lend a hand if we need it then. He will actually enjoy it.

I was only out for a little while.. I looked around for some more christmas gifts and ended up getting a remote controlled robot toy for my 9 year old. It's sort of like an updated version of rockem sockem robots. I think he'll like it. I spent all the Christmas cash I had, so now I can't do anymore shopping until next payday, and even then I won't have much. Good thing I'm almost done.

I have been saving my Amazon to shop with. I have six grand kids and two adult kids with spouses to shop for. I am really loving my Swagbucks for Amazon. I think you are right about the remote controlled toy for your 9 year old.

@GardenGerty I sometimes find some things on Amazon, but I'll usually find a better deal in stores and pick it up there instead. I do have some stuff right now on Amazon and on Walmart.com that I'll probably be purchasing when I get some cash.

Glad your patience is paying off. I would love to have a pantry. Thinking it through is always a good idea.

I am loving how open the flow is going to be in the kitchen area.

@GardenGerty ...Sounds really nice. I think it has to be comfy for the main cook or all is lost.

We were told by the county appraiser that when we bought the house we were issued a permit because we bought with that intention.

Sometimes doing things by ourselves instead of depending on people like handymen is saving some of our hard-earned money. My son and I do the oil changing and even the transmission fluid change of our cars . . we did those things by following the step by step way of doing them from the internet. We save hundreds of dollars.

Oh I know this feeling when we decided to tear down half the house and rebuild it. This was my kitchen. It seemed to take forever to get it done. But once it was done it was a dream come true and I love what we did to the kitchen. We also added my office on top of the kitchen and you need to get to it from the outside. I love my office so high up and the terrace where I can stand and stare out at the lagoon and watch the sun set. Hope your kitchen is done soon.

Everyone works differently don't they? Some need to really think things through before they start which is probably better than going bull at a gate at a task.
