Checking my list twice...

United States
November 25, 2015 9:29am CST
Ho Ho Ho I'm checking items off my list. That's a lie..seriously, I don't make lists not on paper anyway. I use mental lists and that way I don't misplace them. I think I've lived long enough to be able to remember to do 5 or 6 things today without writing them down. If it is a special shopping trip for items I don't normally purchase, sure I might jot them down but most times I forget the list at home so why waste paper and ink right! I certainly don't need a list to see what needs cleaning, I could write those things in the dust and that reminds me...time to dust.

I write my lists, there are so many things to do that I want to be sure to forget nothing. I do not need a reminder for the dust, I can see it.

I can see mine and when I was divorced and living alone dust wasn't allowed...now I'm a little more relaxed about things. It is what it is.

But, if you misplace your brain then where do you put your list?

I have a sign that says 'dust is a country accent' and I live by that sign!

Lists make me feel pressured. They are good for organizing, but organization feels like pressure.

I am a list person, for those one off things that need to be attended to. Without a list I tend to focus on the big things and forget the little things that need to be done, those little things that tend to be put off for yet another day.

I never use to write lists. Busy as life was raising two kids alone and working I always managed to remember what I needed by repetition a few times on the way to the store. Occasionally, while at the store I might get sidetracked by something not on my mental list and then I would forget an item. For the most part my mental list served me well. Now that I am getting older I don't seem to do as well with a mental list forgetting two or three things. I sometimes write it down just to read it over and get it in my brain. I am notorious for losing the list before I get to the store. I must be getting ditsy..lol

I am sure soon I'll be having to make lists - trying to keep my brain sharp by participating here.
