Panic in the Bedroom

I wasn't going to write another post today but thought I'd really like to share the last five minutes with you. I was sitting at the computer reading, liking, responding, commenting as we all do when there was a yell from somewhere in the house. But it had a ring of panic in it as though there was something really wrong – an emergency even. What with all the worries about fires in our state lately, my first thought was that there was a fire down the paddock perhaps.
I abandoned all my friends here and hurried out into the lounge. And what do I find? Vince went off to have a shower and discovered a green frog in the bedroom. He said it was huge but he lied. It was tiny. Anyway we were able to drop a plastic ice-cream container over it, slip some cardboard underneath and I, me, myself and I took it into the garden while Vince hid behind the door. Well, there's a bit of poetic licence there but not much.
Are you married to a wimp? That's a coward in other words, in case wimp isn't a word in common usage. And now I'm off to bed. Goodnight all.
PS: The picture is of a different frog.

It's often funny that so many men who look like big strong brutes are actually the biggest scaredy cats when it comes to the small things. I have seen many a macho man run screaming like a girl at the site of the tiniest spider. Although it is pretty funny to watch!

I couldn't help hooping in laughter. I love frogs! And they have no sharp teeth or other weapons. They might jump but that is about all.

I don´t mind frogs out side, but I agree that having one in the bedroom is not as good a company. Maybe you were not afraid because you thought you could turn it into a prince?

I used to be married to a wimp (many many years ago). He would have made Vince look like a super hero

I love frogs - toads, not so much. My wife is a wimp about several things - mice, creepy crawlies, kids injections - but tough enough about other things to earn a pass mark.

@JudyEv - My wife's cousin runs Kimberley Toadbusters - my daughter Taz went over there to slay a few cane toads as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Award a couple of years ago. You might like to find out a bit more about this organization - it's doing important work for you West Coasters.

@troyburns I've just been to the website. It is certainly great work that they are doing. The number of species already affected by the cane toad is very disturbing. A couple of toads reached Perth in long-haulage trucks. I think it's only a matter of time before they start appearing in the more southerly areas.

Very little frightens me, but I'm not married anymore. I think my ex could not stand "scary" things though.

@JudyEv It's a combination of the way I was born and my upbringing. I was the middle child and expected to do a great deal around the house.

@ElizabethWallace We had a lot of responsibility on the farm too. We all had our chores which increased in complexity as we got older.

@JudyEv Yes that's true, I don't like spiders if they are moving quickly I'm fine when they are just in the room in the corner or something like that x

hahaha! How funny to see a man scared of frog, hahhaha. But thanks anyway because you taught me what wimp means. I am not married to a wimp, I am actually more of a wimp but not extremely wimp because frogs do not scare me unless they are bigger than me.

I love your story and no I am not married to a wimp. I can't remember ever seeing him afraid of anything. He's always been my hero, but I will admit I scream like a girl when I see snakes and he has always come to my rescue.

@JudyEv My husband's job kept him working 12 hours a day from May to November. My sister was divorced with three small kids so we got together every summer to make sure the kids had fun camping and fun together as cousins at my parents house. Where we camp there are no snakes, well I'm sure they are there but we've only seen two in the 35 years we've been doing this and they were sunning on a rock and were no threat.

@PainsOnSlate I think most snakes avoid people if they can. I think it is great when cousins see a lot of each other. Sometimes it is hard to maintain these links.

Well, I am not married, nor am I a wimp/ I love little frogs and critters. However, had it been a spider I would be quite distressed and would have tried very quickly to put it out of my misery..lol
