Blob Trees and other things to think about instead of important things

According to the news, the world is on fire with unrest, war, terrorism and other unpleasant things. But there are more important things to worry about. For instance, John Stamos posted his high school prom picture. You need to see it so you can compare it to your high school prom picture and judge who was cuter. And unbelievably, Reese's Peanut Butter Christmas Trees are not living up to the claims made by the company. Consumers all over America are complaining that their Reese's chocolate trees do not look like the Christmas tree on the package. Chocolate fans are saying that the trees are not even tree-shaped, but that they are completely shapeless blobs. I was absolutely shocked. I remembered that The Girl had bought a package of Reese's PB and Chocolate Christmas trees and that I had put them in the refrigerator so the chocolate would not melt. I decided to find out for myself just what shape these trees were in. Well, I have to say that the trees are not the angular variety shown on the package. They are basically triangular, with some protuberances that represent branches, but the lines are soft and not well-defined. Are they blobs? Not quite. If asked, I would have probably guessed that they were meant to be trees. Unfortunately, they tasted so good that I ate both of them before I could get a photograph. Since this is important consumer research, I will probably buy some more and see if they are all the same shape, or it some are more blob-like than others. But for now, I would say that they are tree-ish and you can safely buy them without fear of them being misidentified as Easter Eggs.

This is true, they make it heart-shaped at Valentine's Day. Ours is not to reason why, ours is but to eat and eat and eat some more.

I am not absolutely sure but I believe that I saw a pic of Priscilla Presley who appears to have had a number of face lifts. I hope it is her, she is not at all attractive now and I always believe she ruined Elvis's life. Personally I feel I would have done a much better job of being his wife and taking care of him. After all the time that has elapsed I think this is an important issue to follow, Did Priscilla ruin the life of Elvis? Should she be allowed to be famous in any way shape or form?

@Rollo1 Elvis was a wacko all right! But he has such a unique voice, I love him for that reason only.

I wish there was a news program that did not contain crime, horrible accidents in far away places and war stories. I would watch that one.

The jokes on the complaining Christians, trees, like xmas are pagan anyhow. If only most people knew where trees originated and that they symbolize a male organ. Good informative topic though.

Christmas is two holidays - the religious one, and the secular one. It's a Federal holiday since President Ulysses S Grant made it one, which gives it a secular aspect because the government celebrates it. The Christmas tree is part of the secular, cultural tradition and is not part of the religious holiday. The religious holiday itself is rather arbitrary and not suggested in the Bible as a Holy Day to be celebrated or marked in any way. I enjoy both the Christian and my cultural traditions, so I have lights and a tree and sing carols and watch sappy movies about good will towards men and celebrate the Lord's birth. But I have never - in all the years that I have been reading about how "pagan" Christmas trees are and all of the warnings about pagan traditions in Christmas - never have I heard anyone say the tree was a phallic symbol. That would never have occurred to me in a zillion years. I worry that it does occur to someone. This subject is one that I refer people back to 1 Corinthians and Paul's explanation of freedom. Knowledge puffs up, love builds up. An idol is nothing, meaningless. We know God and are known by Him. Condemning one another is not our job, there is an accuser of the brethren and I won't stand with him.

Do what you must do, but never , ever, disappoint a consumer. They'll destroy you.

@Rollo1 Exactly! It's the taste that counts as far as I am concerned. I could easily become addicted to them if I allowed myself.

I did notice that they still tasted quite yummy, and since they were never green, the tree-shape was secondary to me.

It's chocolate right? So what's not to love about it, except maybe the peanut butter. You see I can't have Reese's Peanut Butter Cups because I'm allergic to peanuts.

Blob Trees and their related field of "research" (Blobtreeology?) definitely trumps a world that's ablaze! Perhaps they are multilingual like those annoying instructions included with everything...although I can't really say for sure how that might begin to affect the shape?! It just seems remotely plausible in my mind. Possibly because I don't understand any other languages and I also don't understand why they can't make a little less ambiguous of a tree shape, unless it's gone and offended someone! You never can tell.

Thank you kindly, @Rollo1, I knew something didn't look quite right! I once worked with a blobotanist and Bob the phlebotomist many years ago, so shake in a little dyslexia and my fondness for trees, and some type of confusion was almost inevitable.

What an amazing world wide issue. I think they are softly rounded because they are softly chocolate, and peanut butter. Neither of those items have ever been angular in my book.

Someone has to do the investigative journalism that asks the tough questions, and eats the candy.
