Of to do my duty....jury duty that is.

Bleck. Jury duty, I shall go. I am glad we have rights and trials and whatnots, but I really would prefer being asleep still! If I can get a signal inside I will try and lot on my phone, (this whole process takes too long, either pick me or don't!) Otherwise I shall catch up with ya'll later. Oh and have you ever gotten picked? How many times have you gone and NOT gotten picked. This will be my third time sitting there, never had to in states we lived in before. I'd get the card, get to call in early the morning of, and told not even to bother showing up. Never made it to an actual jury either.

Me too. I always wait all day and get booted out on the last weeding. Annoying

@arthurchappell Even though I have been called a total of like 7 times I have never actually sat on a Jury, would love to though.

Never was called. But I worked for a Judge years ago and I was told that would get me off. I don't know about all these years later.

Always had the cancelled panel. That's a lot easier than going there and sitting around all day.

Over here, we do not have jury system. Our justice system allows for appeal, and when the case reaches the Appeal Court, there will be more than one judge. Anyway we have low crime rate compared to the rest of the world.

Most people cringe when they get their notice for jury duty. Hope you aren't sitting there for hours and can sneak in a myLot

I got the notice this past May to serve on the jury. On one of the days I called in they said to report. I got picked to sit on the jury. It was an interesting trial that took two days. It was an insurance situation. The client versus the insurance company. So not a murder or crime of any kind. Disappointing in that regard, yet it was interesting to be part of the jury.

I was called once - just after I moved 250 miles away from the court. It was a perfect excuse to get out of it.

I've been called 2c in 43 years @Jessicalynnt . The first time I didn't get picked but they still gave me the $25 for showing up. The second time I had to remind them that I was a convicted felon and couldn't participate.

I've only been on one jury and only been called up twice I think. Can't really remember. I think I was called up twice.

When I lived in Cook County which is the county Chicago is in I got called like 6 times. Always to criminal court in Chicago. Never served there but had to sit for 2 weeks at a time. Finally they started One Day, One Trial. If you weren't put on a trial after one day you were done thankfully. I now live south of Cook County and have been called once.

I wish they'd use me or I'd not have to show up. The waiting for nothing annoys me

I am strange, I love Jury duty and wish I had it more often. I have gotten picked twice and not picked once and I was on the grand jury once, that was really fun. I love watching the process and listening to the cases. Hope it works out for ya.
