The Elimination Diet: Remove anger, regret, resentment, guilt, blame and worry. Then watch your health and life improve. - Charles Glassman. I have been following the path of positive thinking and rule out negative, unwanted emotions from my life and I have seen my life improve from ordinary to awesome. I would also add jealousy and comparisons of self with others to the list to make life nearly perfect. I have often heard people tell me its impossible to think positive all the time.. It impossible only for those who think so.. its just a matter of habit and right thinking. Negative thoughts and emotions destroy our happiness and self confidence making life miserable. Have you ever tried this diet? How effective has this been for you?

I tend to be a worrier and know that I don't have to worry so much, but it's hard to give up. I get worried if I don't worry enough.

No, I never tried, I try to be positive but there is nothing I can do to remove regrets.

@LadyDuck They are just thoughts.. which you can always ignore and let them fade into forgetfulness. It is just a thought habit.

I am positive that I could not positively do this sort of diet. Is that positive enough for you?

@sofssu But how could it be negative, when there were several positives in there?
@sofssu (23660)

@purplealabaster Absolutely not.. That is purely negative.

not very, I like to be prepared, being positive to me doesn't allow me room to have battle plans, and back up plans and other things that keep me sane

@Jessicalynnt Being positive doesn't mean you are not in sync with reality and you have no plans to handle eventualities. It just means that you cut out negative thoughts that tell you, you can't, its impossible and stuff like that.. you just replace them with why not and plan for those.

@sofssu AH, I gotcha, more like getting a handle on negative self talk, not so much negative perceptions of things that might happen?

@Jessicalynnt It is both, Being negative is foreseeing only doom and gloom. Being positive is to be practical see how you can handle stuff that goes wrong and move on. It is the ability to accept the negative with the positive as a way of life, not overly focused on the negative alone.

@sueznewz2 It has taken time, years I should say, but it surely works.. It is just another habit.. a thinking habit to be precise.

@sofssu that's right..... it took me a while... but the biggest thing was monitoring my thoughts .... realising that I was thinking negative thoughts and then...making the decision to think something else....

I've been doing all my best (by God's grace) to eliminate all the negative emotions. There are times I fail in one or two but so far so good.

@salonga I agree with you completely, I have seen amazing results in getting rid of negative emotions only in the light of God's word. Before which, I can only say I have tried hard.

Positive thinking does you good. Negative thoughts get you down. Get rid of the people who get you down. There are plenty of happy people out there .

@suzzy3 I basically believe its not possible to get rid of all negative people.. we could chose to associate more with positive people and not let the negative ones push our buttons.

I have never heard of this diet till now, and I think it could only be beneficial, I know that though I try to be positive and peaceful, I now and again slip up, I will keep on trying though.

@bluesa We all do.. it would be a blatant lie to say I don't. The important think is to pick up your thought life and get back on the chosen path again.

@Marilynda1225 When you see your glass half full you tend to enjoy life more and see the possibilities life has to offer. Don't you think so?

I do strive to stay positive. One of the things that gets me down is financial problems. Right now things are good but I do not know what the New Year will bring.
