Who wants pie?

United States

Don't push or shove, there is enough for everyone! Last week I made a lemon meringue pie and my husband wanted another one. I talked him into Key Lime instead. So this morning he ground up the graham crackers for the crust and once the crust was baked and cooled I made the filling. It's rather easy since I use Nellie and Joe's Key West Lime Juice. The recipe for key lime pie is on the label. Very easy to make and just 15 minutes in the oven. Now I'll let it cool thoroughly and get it in the fridge. Santa is guarding it for me.I'll be serving it around 6:30 - so you better get here before then! Photo is mine:

I remember the Key Lyme Pie, this was the dessert we found in every restaurant in Key West and my husband does not like it. I do... keep a slice for me.

It must have been a great relief to find the correct recipe on the packaging and not a recipe for Lemon Meringue Casserole.

I really like lemon meringue pie and key lime pie. Anytime I eat them, I think of the beach because when I was a kid and we would go to a Florida beach, we would go out to seafood restaurants and get one of those for dessert, or if my Mom cooked in the beach house, she would either make one or buy one.

You can have pumpkin and look at Key Lime - but I don't think they would mix well together!

mmm, I'd like to try that. I've only made it from a mix in a box. I bought key limes once to try to make it but those little limes were too annoying to work with.
