It's All In The Jeans

As I was driving past a bus stop my eye was caught by a young Gothic-looking chap in the queue. No, it wasn't my latent homosexuality kicking in, it was his legs that attracted me. Actually that doesn't sound any better!!!
It was his jeans OK! He was wearing the most infeasibly skinny skinny jeans I've ever seen. Now I'm not a fan of the skinny jean. It certainly isn't a staple of the WorDazza wardrobe. Once, while shopping for jeans, Mrs WorDazza handed me a pair of skinny jeans, as a joke, to try on. The joke was on her when I emerged from the changing rooms, for her to pass judgement, with the waist just above my knee-caps, bronzed, muscular thighs on view to the world!!
It got me thinking that you never ever see a portly male Goth looking like he got dressed in the dark and inadvertently squeezed into his little sister's jeans. Every male Goth, ever, has legs like pipe cleaners.
There obviously must be some sort of initiation ceremony for the budding male Goth. A bit like those signs at theme parks you have to stand against to ensure you're tall enough for the ride, there must be a universal pair of Goth skinny jeans you have to fit into to become a Goth.
Fail to get them over your bulging thighs and that's it! You're out! No moping about in city parks, pretending you want to die! With those thighs you're playing rugby!
Or maybe I'm over-thinking things again!!

As a first year theological student I had a realization...I am standing in a Gothic looking building, dressed in a black robe, holding a chalice in front of an altar before a large crucifix, statues, candles, reciting words in archaic language...uh, Goth I be;).

After I read your first paragraph I could, as a gay man, feel the homophobia just pouring out but I glanced over the article and I was fascinated about your obsession with skinny jeans!!

As a former gothicky girl I can assure you that there are lots of bigger gothicky blokes. They're just not as sensually attractive as the skinny ones so nobody notices them. Lolz. Skinny jeans are nearly as ridiculous as leggings and jeggings.

Good point. I don't knnow that Goth is as big over here as in the UK. But I rarely see a fat male goth. As for the females, I'm not so sure. Did kids sag their pants in the UK when they wanted to identify as "ghetto" and "thuggy"? That was all the rage here for over a decade.

@Iam_jauntyjen Listen to your mom! You could be doing yourself some serious physical damage if your jeans are too tight! Listen to me!! I'm sounding like your Dad!!!!

@paigea I'm 50 now and I still wear jeans but I'm starting to wonder if maybe I should stop soon. I'm sure Mrs WorDazza will let me know when I look ridiculous in them. She has a ruthlessly honest streak when it comes to my clothes. I suppose she does have to be seen in public with me!!

A woman developed thrombosis a month or two ago, from wearing skinny jeans apparently. I have yet to see someone who looks good in skinny anything and if there is a health risk as well this is more than bad taste it is a risky fashion to wear.

Now that you mention it I've never seen a Goth with thick thighs either. AS for skinny jeans....not for me that's for sure

"Bronzed, muscular thighs"? It may take me a while to get that image out of my head. Think I'll go and watch something less disturbing - the Miss Universe highlights should do it...

I'm not fan of skinny jeans either. I wish that fad would fade away because that is all they sell now in stores.
