What Was the Best Thing About Your Holiday?

This was a very pleasant day for me. My husband and I had a relaxing morning, talking on the phone with family members who are spread all over the country. Then one of our daughters came over with her two kids and we opened presents and had dinner together. One of our daughters gave us a new Blue Ray player and another daughter gave us the first season of the TV series "Breaking Bad." So, after all our Christmas festivities, we watched a couple of episodes of "Breaking Bad." Kind of a weird way to end Christmas, I know! However, we loved the family time together! That was the best part about my holiday. What about yours? Did you have snow?

We were warm and happy here, played a lot with Ally (my pup) and did a little cleaning and cooking. It was a great day all in all.

I agree @DeborahDiane but then back when ma was still doing Christmas for us she worked so hard making it special, back then we were so thoughtless of her efforts, I wish I could thank her now that I finally understand what she did for us.

It was lovely to have the family here and they are just on their way to us again. My biggest thrill was to be given a portrait of my daughter grand daughter and grandson.

We have COLD here. It was a nice day for me. The best part of the day was when my daughter called. The best time of the holiday was being covered with butterflies in the Conservatory in Key West. So much fun! The people in the town were especially lovely and friendly.

@ElizabethWallace - Oh, yes! I remember having to buy film, then take it to get it developed, then go back and pick it up. And, of course, it cost us money every step of the way!

@DeborahDiane Thanks. I took hundreds of photos. So glad we don't need film anymore. Remember how annoying and expensive that was?

Our holidays have been wonderful. I think we attended out last party tonight, so things should be calmer over the next week!

We had our "official Christmas" with the kids and grands on Dec. 14. Yesterday hubby and I just hung out, he tried to get me to play chess. I attempted.I like calm holidays.

I always put on a big fancy Christmas Day brunch. My family knew that anyone could come over, they were welcome at any time after about 830 or 9am so long as they brought their appetite. We always ate just before noon. My favorite thing about Christmas is that our son and his girlfriend have stepped into my shoes. They now host this and her being Polish, the menu is new and exciting. And her mother was there, my husband and I so enjoy her company. It was a lot of fun. She did up the table in white and gold, and it looked so spectacular. That was my favorite part of the day. And it was in the mid 50's F, and this is Canada!

We had no snow and I am glad, because we went to Milan, with our niece who had spend the 24th with us, to join my Mom and the rest of the family. A nice day talking together, without smartphones and TV.

The best part of my day yesterday was being with my family at my brother's home and seeing them tear off the paper on the pillows I made everyone. As for your second question - Did we have snow - do a few snowflakes count in the middle of the night just after it turned to December 25? Otherwise no, not a white Christmas.

The best part was having my son home from college. He is a grad student and because of his research he can't spend a month home like he could when he was an undergrad. So every minute I get with him is precious. He is my youngest son and I miss him so. He has to go back to school today.

We had snow, but it's just flurries - no build ups or anything. We spent the night of the 24th at my boyfriend's mom's place, had a very nice dinner and played lots of card games, most of which I have not heard of. Then we drove back to our town 3 hours away and made it just in time for a late lunch and dinner at our friends' house. We never expected to receive lots of gifts. We sure felt shy that we are the only ones who have no gifts for anybody there - we brought lots of desserts though. We went home late and until today we are still recovering.

I wish we did have snow but we had a little rain and temps in the 50-60's. I really enjoyed family time last Saturday when we went to spend time with my kids/grandkids. Yesterday, my brother and I had a very relaxed and low key day. We ate left overs from Christmas Eve and watched movies all day.

It sounds like a lovely Christmas to me. No snow. But we're getting rain this weekend and a rain/snow mix next week. I talked to my brother via Face Time yesterday morning, while he was exploring and traveling in Europe to see the Andes mountains in Italy. I've spoken to my cousin in NY and father (who's in Florida for winter) by phone last night.
