This is a first for December 27th

United States
December 27, 2015 1:00pm CST
My husband is spraying weeds and also killing fire ants - I keep looking at the calendar - we shouldn't have weeds or fire ants to kill! In a way I will not be too unhappy when the temperatures get back to normal at the end of the week. Thursday night, New Year's Eve, we should be in the 30's at night and 50's during the day. Maybe that will put an end to the weeds and ants!

Times are changing and so is the weather. I guess there will be a lot of first in the next few years to come. Seems like your winter is late in arriving this year. I hope it won't last too long and won't be too cold for you there.

This is not normal at all and probably won't ever happen again. We get really cold for a week or so, then warms up a little and then cold again.

@poehere It will get cold, but in a way I want it to so that the bugs will die.

@AbbyGreenhill We expect snow for the 2nd day of the year. This time I do not complain, we need rain and snow.

@LadyDuck I'll send you rain - we are to get heavy downpours this afternoon and again Wednesday. The ground just can't take any more rain.

I'm ready for a nice frost to get rid of all those bugs. Would you believe my grandson got a huge mosquito bite on Christmas

Yes I would believe it, the bugs are as confused as the plants.

And here I am thinking about forcing myself out of bed at 6:30 am, then at 7 stomping down the icy driveway to the road so that we can check out the road and probably calling a cab. My big thrill for tomorrow: driving my car out in the afternoon so that I can get groceries then hubby. At least the below freezing temps should keep the afternoon roads chilled and snow free.

It's currently sleeting outside. Now I have to worry about my kid until he calls when he makes it safely to work.

We can only hope that we will have several weeks of normal temps and not what we have been having.
